classic car sales sites

Ok - so I have googled my poor eyes and brain to death looking for Canadian car sale sites for hot rods and such and not much except Kijiji , and Old autotrader.

Tons of US sites but I do not want to be bothered with a car I cant drive to see or have someone look at for me - never mind the border crap

I am still on the hunt for a 61 or older car, only - no trucks, as a hot rod, or custom, or drag car, running or roller, but no serious projects.

Anyone out there got some sales sites they frequent that you could pass on to me?

how about this for an option seeker. i have been to a couple over the years and they all aren't high end cars and you won't get much closer to go over them. you might want to take a trailer with you or if you do find something just rent a trailer from u-haul. you never know, lol.

2017-06-29 1915 008.JPG1912 t 017.JPGI have bought 2 cars that came up in discussion forums in the US. Bought one in Detroit and one on Vancouver Island at very good prices. Both early original cars but the fact is a fellow pointed them out on the discussion showing the bargain that I picked up on.

I also find in the forums other fellows may know the car or point something out that I may have missed in the photo add.

I've found simply searching something via google works just fine

I know a for sale site type format gives you hours of endless window shopping , and , even ideas maybe you didn't have before

K , great ,
step that up , grab any old auto trader type rag for reference and sit down at the computer

if you find something that perks your interest , google it

you might find nothing or fifty of them ...

if you add "toronto area" like I do , or your equivalent , then the google search is sure to give you every kijiji listing "local" to you too.....it just happens

it's exactly how I found my nice little rot free shelby charger
googled it .. toronto area

found it in a for sale thread on some ontario shelby mustang owner's site - and THAT was the only place it had been advertised

so by random search methods I found exactly , exactly the car I wanted

DJD - I have logged over a thousand hours doing what you suggested - and those searches ultimately take you in the proverbial circle - hence asking - networking here - hoping someone comes up with something I have not been able to "google"
old autos - been there - have the subscription - there are like 20 cars for sale at the moment - all outside of my parameters.
I frequent so many forums it has become a second job just to keep track of whats new.
craigslist - not so much in Canada anywhere - we are kijiji users here
FaceBook - marketplace and another dozen forums - nothing here in Canada worth lookin at

Still searchin and networkin :)

I hear you.. and I know exactly what you mean ..
it took 3-4 years looking before I found the add for mine
I saved it another three years and for the price to get better before I bought it
lucky thing is , no big market for it - my advantage there

so even if you find something interesting , touch base , get contact info
stuff doesn't always sell before the adds die

a buddy used to keep his auto traders for a year or two for that reason .. doesn't hurt to try .. later

Are you buying a project or a driver ?   can you narrow the search to a specific vehicle ?    just wondering

427 Carl - Can be a roller - that means drop an engine in and peripherals and go driving - or a running driving project to be fixed up while driving, or a finished car - no specific vehicle - has to be a 2dr, would be nice if it was already chopped, and or tubbed as i wish to do some ONDRA racing with whatever I find :)
