OK... Going to re list this. Now it is springtime.....
Ideally. I would like to trade for something... But will sell.
1931 Chevy Independence Pickup.
All steel, totally new fabricated rear box. rebuilt 350ci, with ‘68 Corvette camel hump heads, New Holley DP carb. 1 year only caddy offset air cleaner. re cored original radiator. Brand new wheels n tires, Front end sent off. rebuilt, and dropped 3" by nostalgia Sid, All new parts. 5 speed standard box, all rebuilt. Hurst gear lever. ‘56 chevy rear end (posi). Brakes n clutch all plumbed in with brand new pedal boxes. Brakes are Willwood front, and the stock ‘56 Chevy rear drums. Chassis is all good with no rust. Stainless fuel tank in truck bed. Bed floor is really old and aged wood from a local barn.
I have channeled the truck 9 inches, so it sits nice n low.
It does still need a few parts to finish.. It needs a propshaft, obviously not a very long one! It also needs a steering column. Most people just fabricate a basic one. The installed steering box is the only ford part on the car, and it is big ugly and crap! I have a brand new Vega steering box to replace it. I have kept this Truck All Chevy. It also needs new windshield glass, the frame is good. As it is flat glass, easy job to do.
Electrical is a painless system, it is disassembled at the moment, as when I dropped the body, it all had to be moved. But is so simple to follow the painless diagram. The car will fire right up when all electrics are re connected.
I have removed the HEI distributer, and now have older stock type one. The shorty headers have gone, and I have a brand new Lakester header kit still in the boxes. Valve covers are now ‘68 Corvette finned covers.
I got a bench seat from a later model Chevy, stripped it and fabricated the frame to fit in the truck. It needs to be foamed and upholstered.
The body still needs some work, the doors have to be framed to stiffen up. I have all the info for that. Originally the 31 had a wooden body frame. They rot out. The body now has a steel internal frame to stiffen and add strength. It will also need a floor, but a small one. Most people use wood now.
There are loads of spares and new parts, Lakester pipes, new wiper motors, new steering box, all sorts packed up in boxes. Probably forgotten stuff I have bought for it. There is also a set of VW snowflake rear lights there. Always liked those. It still carries original VIN, ownership in my name. I have $18k in this truck already... Sure it still needs work. But parts wise, it is pretty complete.
