I recently acquired a 66 mustang notch back that needs the usual floors and quarters, having done a lot of armchair searching I found a supplier with good prices but also says the fastback quarters, with a little fabbin, will work on the notchback body, has anyone done this?

Who is the supplier? I have had some trouble with parts from on line suppliers that are just crap.

Why not get the correct parts?

I just bought floor pans for my Studebaker. They were fairly inexpensive and didn't match the car at all even though they advertised as for my car. I returned them and bought a more legitimate part at a higher price, but they fit. The first were just a piece of bent sheet and the second were die stamped.

Take a look at what National Parts Depot has to offer. We got the whole underside for a 67 Mustang through them. They have a warehouse in Detroit, the customer picked up the parts right there and brought them back across. Everything seemed to fit fairly well. Did a 68 Camaro floor and subrails from just behind the front seats to the back bumper. Same thing, customer picked it all up and brought it back, it went together pretty well too. Parts fit good and prices are inline or better than lots of other suppliers.

Get the correct parts. "a bit of fabbin" from someone selling parts probably includes a lot of fibbin.

Do yourself a favour and check out Rusty Gillis's threads on Mustang restorations before starting. It will be time well spent.
