So I just saw the last bit of the coverage of the Mexican formulaE race.

Thought great a car race. Couldn't figure out what was so odd, then

it hit me ,formulaE must mean electric or I have the sound muted.

If this gets popular does that mean mufflers won't be necessary at local tracks

and the locals won't be able to file noise complaints shutting them down?

Sorry ,I have no clue who won ,just too weird . Wonder if he did a burnout though? Ed

Don Garlits has an E dragster.
189 MPH so far.
He's trying to be the first to go 200.
There are others.
Interesting stuff.
Every car maker in the world is doing some electric.

I’m an F1 fan and I just can’t get excited about the E cars. I remember when the F1 cars first went to the turbo V6 engine format and they all sounded like 4 stroke motorcross bikes – no more screaming engines, just a boring thumper sound. Some groups actually filed law suits over the new sound and F1 finally allowed more engine noise to please the fans. Same thing with the Fe cars. Sure they’re fast and the racing is close but they all sound like sewing machines gone crazy. No thanks. Give me a screaming gas guzzler any day, at least on the race track.
