I hope I didn't already post this project.  I forget.  But if not, here goes.  I built two spark plug wire harness covers after I saw them on a few rods at a show last summer.  I used two flat sheets of stainless steel from an old bar-b-q and cut them to size and shape.  Then I found a style of font I like from the fifties from a site called 'Font Diner'.  I drew them out on Frisket paper to the size I wanted, cut them out with an X-acto knife, used the resulting stencil to ink them onto the metal, removed the Frisket and then finally engraved the letters in. The panels aren't as clean and shiny as new chrome but I think they turned out ok and there was so much fun in the building, I'm ok with the finished product.  On a sunny day, they still gleam.

They look great Cuddles. Old BBQ's are good for lots of projects. I've taken the side burners off a few and bolted them together, making a multi- burner benchtop stove for camping for my kids. I have my chop saw mounted on another stand, complete with out-riggers on either side.

Great idea with the chop saw stand. Cool. Why toss what can be used, eh? Thank you Iwannagofast.

Old BBQ's for a source of stainless sheet metal. Great idea, thanks.

You'd be amazed at all the 'chrome' I got from old bar-b-ques Rumblegutz. And the lower panels on the bar-b-q work well as inside panels on my doors.
