One of my son's and I dropped a big old Manitoba Maple at his place yesterday, before it fell and squashed his shop. As I was brushing,  my mind wandered ( happens a lot at my age ) and I got to thinking about the effect of the virus on the stock market.

Then I got to wondering about the prices of cars. trucks and bikes for sale. Anyone want to venture a guess as to what kind of corrections we might see there?

Yes!     and so should we :)    I am ex-military.  I used to be able to take out enemies with my bare hands.  Now at 71. I just shoot them.

Actually fella's, I was thinking about classic vehicles, not new ones. Just wondering if the ridiculous ( in my opinion) prices people are asking might drift back into a normal range?

Probably will get lower, just because the older stuff doesn't seem to be a priority for the younger crowd these days. Not sure if this Cocid thing will have much to do with it.

With the dollar below 70 cents and the current situation no one will be going south to buy. Project cars might do well with folks stuck at home trying to stay busy

Seems like the supply is outdoing the demand right now.  After Trump changed the tax laws in 2016 the US market changed and collectors now have to pay capital gains.  The virus will likely eat up a chunk of "discretionary" funds for members in our hobby and this nonsense in Maryland won't help the hobby either.  I sold off all my cars last summer, gonna wait and see before I invest too much back in.

I,m selling my junk to the American market I,m aiming for the guys looking for hot rods drag cars built before 1975 ish . But partly because my hunting fishing stuff takes up one closet and a 3 ft x 4 ft by 5 ft space and my atv takes up half a spot in the garage . right now my drag car is taking up almost 2 spaces and 3 others in storage I,m gonna end up selling 4 all together

There still seems to be a lot of people with a lot of money around, those folks will weather the storm.  The other end of the spectrum is the folks that signed up with Barrett Jackson or one of the other classic car finance houses thinking they could ride the wave for a year or two and sell the asset, possibly at a profit.  I think that some of the finance terms were 96 months.  Personally I can't wrap my head around it but its altogether possible they are smarter than me!

I think we will see a lot of out car events canceled this year. No large crowds allowed.

Taken from another site :

City: Hanover
State: Pennsylvania
Price: 6500
Ok let's see what happens. This is a coronavirus no work sale. 53 belair 4 door. Automatic and power steering. Has the original 6 cylinder. Runs well and shifts fine. The interior is in good shape. Newer carpet. None of the glass is cracked and all the gauges work. It does ride a little rough. It has lowering blocks and the front springs were heated. The bad is the hood was welded together and bonded over. The puddy is cracking off. There are 2 spots it had surface rust and it was sanded down and painted but not that well. The instrument lights dont work but the headlights and turn signals all work. If interested let me know I'll get you more pictures. The radial Whitehalls are almost new. This will cruise along at 50 to 60 just fine. It has never let me down. If your interested I'll send you more pictures.

Canadian Tire by me is curbside pick-up only. Order on line, go to the store to pick up, they put it in your car and you're on your way.

Almost all stores are now this way. I can't go into any store and buy stuff, except food. And with dollar so low I can't order anything either. And my US address box is closed for now as well.
