Sticker Renewals

I took a chance on the moratorium on plate renewals and participated in a surprise birthday parade

for a car crazey kid last week. My plates were due in Feb but I just got the Ventura out this week

and the offices were closed. Parade went fine ,kid was smiling from ear to ear and I wore the winter

flatspots off the old bias ply's. Did manage to cross paths with the local constabulary after and asked

what was going on. He said that they were following the moratorium on ticketing expired plates till the offices

open again so enjoy.

So what is going on in your area? Ed

Samething here, been running around with expired sticker since 3rd week of March on my daily. Hardly ever see any police cars out on the road. This whole scene is getting weird.

You may want to check your insurance policy.  Some companies treat expired plates, licence and impaired in the same category and "Reserve the write to refuse coverage if you operate the vehicle without it".  I just did my online to avoid the hassles.

Thank's Ziggy, I will give them a call. I would rather
drive to Brighton than try to do anything on line. Ed

I just spoke to my agent and they said as long as the renewal time frame is OK with the province, it is OK with the insurance co. $300 to renew my truck plus 4 other cars is a nice delay. Just got a notice from Revenue Canada that they do not want my income tax owing until September. I like this.

I had to get stickers today. Wait in line was about 20 minutes or so at the Belleville Service Ontario. They have cut back the hours of service though.

Like Livetodrive suggested I called my ins co and was told as long as the cops are happy and this
provinces shutdown lasts then my policy is valid. But I am still going to renew as soon as possible
just to be safe, cause we all know how nice the ins industry is when you need to file a claim. Ed

Pay me now, pay me later.  You still got'a pay.  Lots of people will get caught by this.  We got our first government allowance, no tax taken off, lol.  Still going to have to pay tax on that at some point.  Same with all the car company's offering no payments for 6 months, that will come back to hurt people as well as they still need to make all the payments.

Campbellford is open too, Monday to Friday 9:00-12:00 then 1:00-4:00 closed Saturday .
Line is a little slow with 6 feet between clientele and a single staffer to run the operation
still but its getting things done. Took mom in yetserday to get all the vehicles put in to her
name after dads passing at Christmas, fist time in her 82 years to ever have a car or
insurance that was hers...

lol  that sounds like some of the things mom went through when dad passed. in hindsight it is a chuckle but serious at the time in her mind. i can believe it your mom will be over whelmed with some of it, your dad had a lot of pokers in the fire at one time.   hope she is doing well bud.

i remember it took 2 or 3 years to get all the stuff in reasonable order after my wife passed and i can chuckle about some of the bull sh!t now, some 20yrs later.

I moved back to BC recently and needed to get plates and insurance on a truck i just bought here, I was very surprised to find out everything was done on the phone, after all the stinking tax is added give them your card number. All the paperwork came in a email along with paper plates yup print them off and tape to the windshield and back window. It took about 4 days for the real plates to get delivered by courier.
