So the other day I was reading some of my old Hot Rod magizenes and had a thought. I have literally a thousand
of custom and rod magazines and each one from the 50s thru the 80s have 5 or 6 feature cars . Cars and trucks that
the owners spent thousands of dollars and countless hours fixing up. Every once in awhile you see one pop up on KIJIJI.
Way too much to just scrap ,so where are they.
If I counted the cars represented in all the magazines I have plus all the vans represented in Van magazines, plus the trucking
ones and lets not forget our racing buddies ans last but not least the antique clan . There must be hundreds of thousands over the last 50-60 yrs or so
Are they still out there? Are they hidden in garages?
All those rods featured in Rod Action or any of those 70s mags wonder what happened to them. Just a thought to ponder cause its too
Lots of different stories and endings, Grampa's or Dad's that have past away. The dream vehicle they babied is now under the bed sheet with cardboard boxes and bicycles parked on and around it. Sold out of country, and never seen again. Or refurbished and rebuilt and is now sporting the latest fad, same vehicle, new look. Bashed up and parted out, stolen and parted out, just parted out and scrapped out the rest. It's really endless, if you can dream it up it's likely happened. I've had a few that have past through my hands, they can almost become a form of currency, or bartering chips if you will. How many are in limbo going from hopeful owner to owner (or dreamer) without ever being worked on? Good question Ed....lots of different scenarios.
