Had these for years, the one way valve for PCV that ya weld into the collectors. Forget what ya call them.
I'm gonna dry fit the headers back in after I remove the solid motor and trans mounts and go back to rubber.
With the headers back in, I'll know where I have the clearance down there, which way to point to miss frame etc etc.
I prolly had the instructions once upon a time. The tube that welds to the collector simply has a 45 degree angle chopped out.
I'm guessing the pointy bit should be to the inside so the exhaust whipping by causes the low pressure to be sucked out of the engine from the valve covers.
I'm just not sure of the angle I should be migging these into header collectors. $1000 big tube Hookers for the Dogleg heads, so I kinda don't wanna screw this up.
I've googled the heck out of it, but found nothing.
I saw a meme Harry posted way back in the off-topic about 'hookers and a tranny' and laughed, then saw the valves in the collectors.

what he said^ but I think also the bung should be welded on at an angle so as to help the exhaust "pull past" the bung rather than try to turn into the bung
and the common use breathers on the valve covers often seen in the moroso kit were simply 1970's chrysler crankcase breathers (just now learned if you google chrysler crankcase VENT.. you won't find them)
OK then. Kurts diagram 1 shows it. I've had these for years but never pulled the tubes before now so they never got installed.
My concern was the angle position on the bottom of the 'nipple' and it looks to be running square inside the collector rather than the point to the engine side.
That is a rather elaborate setup with check valves and two breather adapted vents. Usually the vents are for taking air into the engine or at least releaving pressure and the stink tube or it's follow up, the PCV valve with it's own check valve would provide the extraction to vacuum on the intake. If you are using the header vacuum, I don't think it makes any difference whether the nipple is straight in or canted. All applications that I have seen are straight in. I guess after market suppliers have to do something different to justify cost.

I understand what you're saying Warren, and I agree. I'm thinking that the header valves won't do much if anything at low RPM. At higher RPM's I can see the justification, otherwise their just kinda down there.
Both these AMC engines are 1969, and AMC engines 'breathing' ability was always fantastic.
Even the stock valves were large (2.025 and 1.98 I think), but I use 440 Chrysler valves in the 70 dogleg heads for both. Both sets of dogleg heads are all hogged out for the valves, ported etc etc.
I never had a pressure issue pushing oil out seals like I did with my Z28 302 or the 350's.
My 427,454 and 396 cars had lots of 'ventilation' up top, but all the Chevs I'd pop that frost plug and huck a tube with another vent at the front of the intake. (AMC did that from factory)
This whole in the header thing, was just something I knew about 30 years ago and never did, and I've have the valves and valve cover caps that long. I figure why not.
Was always a strong running car, so adding something I've always had can't hurt it, I hope.
Still gonna get rid of that nasty rear suspension this year. I'll keep in touch with you if you're still doing that cross boarder ordering when I'm ready.
Don't know how I'll fair out between now and next Hospital thing in July, but I'll stay on it.

You use Ford air pump divertor valves . I have a set of small car , big tube Dog Leg Hookers that have them in it for my Gremlin Drag car . If you want PM me a text number or email address and I,ll send you some pictures of them
