Remember these gas pedals? Well they made a small one as well, for the dimmer switch on the floor way back then too. I know I can get one from Speedway for $40 w/shipping and stuff. But it seems a bit much. Does anyone have one they would part
with for cheap? The dimmer switch one is about 3" x 2" and that is still bigger than the gas pedal I currently have. I don't have a lot of room down there so this dimmer switch would be a lot more comfortable for me as a gas pedal. I'll pay $20 if anyone has one to part with.
Wish I kept my original but it's probably still in the Challenger wherever that is. Thanks in advance.
Thank you both. I figured that it is as you say, lots of these sitting on shelves somewhere. If nothing comes up off of somebody's shelf, I might just fab one similar. I have the big one but it is too big for may gas pedal space. Thank you. I'll wait and see if anyone remembers having one in an old box 'on the shelf'.
I had one of those kicking around way back. Haven't seen it in ages, but I'll go on a quest to the dark corners of the shop and see what I can find. If I come up zero, a "throttle spoon" style pedal is easy to make. It could be made to fit the situation. On my way to the shop to look.
Thank you both. I will look up a 'throttle spoon' but I think that may be what I have now. Very narrow and not very long. When driving for an hour or more, my foot could be more comfortable with something even slightly larger. Thanks guys.
No not yet....I have it hid real well. Did find some other things through, now I have two and sometimes three of the same thing!!
lol, that there is funny, with a lot of truth in it. " Did find some other things through, now I have two and sometimes three of the same thing!!" lmao
the thing that brothers me about that though, the odd time i find the same pc or thing a couple of times, lol, glad it is months apart time wise, so far. lmao
I think the trick is to sit down and really think about it for 5 minutes. It doesn't actually help you find the part or the tool but it gives you that 5 minutes of sitting down and taking a break you never would have taken otherwise. Some of my tools, not many but some are actual Snap On and I don't usually lose them but the rest are Free Range Tools and I find they like to wander pretty much anywhere for at least a week or two. I know I'll find that flex brake line if I really want to - right after I go out and buy a replacement for it.
Yeah, that 'Hang Ten' pedal is the big one. I have that one. The Moon Eyes pedal look functional and more comfortable but not particularly pleasing to the eye. Just personal taste I guess but thank you.
I,m positive I have both big and small pedals . the small one has a round boss with a round cut out on back to sit over the dimmer swuitch and held on with a set screw . We moved here three years ago and still havent got sorted out yet . I,m positive I have both but just have no idea where they are ha ha . My 50 chevy truck , the gasser and The Womans trans am and my gremlin drag car and car trailer are still locked in storage h%ll ha ha and then two ten by ten sheds with parts , spares , slicks etc . theyre in there some wheres

Well if you ever run across it and don't mind parting with the small one, please let me know. I'm learning so much in this hobby. Being more patient is always worth learning and the kindness of members on this site is astounding. It isn't just about turning a wrench. So many kind people to appreciate.
Well Cuddles...I haven't forgot about you. Still get poking around the shop looking for that dimmer pedal. My shop is set up like an archeological dig, I think I'm around the 1996 era level now. Discovered I'm missing a few key componets that were slated for other 'on hold' projects. Likely going to find a box, inside of a box, of these treasures someday. Or maybe my executor will. My little piles of "Jeez...more of those" has grown. If I find it, it will likely be by accident, but it will still be yours. Still looking.
Ok today I just brought the fifty outta storage to our new home , And there was a cal custom gas pedal foot pedal that is not horribly worn but the chrome is gone on the toes area and a really nice matching dimmer switch foot pedal , The dimmer one just says taiwan on the back so it could be from 80,s ?????
If you still want them send me your address and I,ll get the woman to send them out next week

Hello 77: Yes please but I only need the dimmer pedal. I still have my big one for the gas pedal. Address- J Langford -343 Kents Bay Road-Keene Ontario- k9j 6x8 Thank you so much 77. You must know Dave Brown ?
Note: My aged pc finally crashed so I am borrowing a lap top (hate it) for messaging when I have to.
Thank you. I will let you know when they arrive. Did you find anything else you had forgotten about that you are glad to have found ? I know my shop is a mess again.
No I didnt but I was walking around in my garage and got to thinking Hmmmm maybe when I put my drag car and my gasser project on ebay maybe .... just maybe I might put my 50 chev truck on there also

I should have posted this a lot sooner. No buts about it.
Doug (77) was kind enough to give me two 'Hang Ten' foot pedals, no charge. Not even for postage. Boy the people here are so helpful.
Thank you again Doug. Now my right foot won't get sore on the longer runs. Those spoon throttle pedals are tiny and the curve doesn't help.
I hope you don't mind if I follow your example and give the large 'Hang Ten' gas pedal to Cameron Byrnes building his 46. I think he needs it.
A big THANK YOU once again Doug ! It is so kind of you.
Sure no problems . Not really letting go of everything but my plan is to do a group shot on my laneway . When I put The Little Gremlin and The Gasser project on e bay and racing ju nk dot com , The Fifty and Dings 87 Trans am are gonna be in the shots back grounds . Its mental mind games with Americans that hopefully have money . ha ha . When theyre looking at pics of the gremlin or the chassis , theyll be thinking Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that 50 would make anawesome tow vehicle , or hey that trans am for the old lady could offset purchasing the gasser project

Yup, that's the high beam pedal I needed but 77 (Doug) was kind enough to send me one already, but thank you Seeker1056. And it wasn't long after Doug sent it that I found my flexible brake line (in the back of my rod). I spent days hunting all over the garage and found it much later when I wasn't looking for it.
