For my Toyota Tacoma 2019, I'm looking at the Undercover Flex Tonneau Cover. Have you ever used a tonneau cover like this before? What are your thoughts on the subject?

when looking at folding covers one thing to look at is if it can be folded up against the back window to open up all the truck bed

I have a soft "tri" fold cover that isn't..it only folds twice and stacks flat on the front of the box preventing me from getting in the storage box at the front of the bed without removing the cover from the truck..

this one you're lookin' at has that issue covered..but..ouch ..kinda spendy

but then..my folding soft cover was 350 ..8 or 9 years back and I thought it kinda expensive , for what is is ..

it's just now starting to look kinda old.

This person does realize we are in Ontario, Canada and not in Ontario California, maybe?
As far as the cover goes, what use is a truck when you only have access to 1/3 or 1/2 of your box? I personally prefer the roll up type, either cloth or solid, which can be out of the way when you want to use the box fully while keeping things secure when closed.

We don't have Toyota HiLux in this country.
Personally, I prefer a cap. Much more room.

had a cap.. used to keep it in the backyard.. then I moved and couldn't take it off the truck for four years..
finally I was at the point of wanting to abandon it on the side of the road..I HAD tried to sell the samdamthin.. then I got lucky
saw a guy pulling in a driveway just down the street from the old house..same truck as .. so I pulled in behind and asked if he wanted a free cap

thank god he said .."sure..thanks"
...RELIEF...

years..of backing up...looking through three layers of "factory tint.. I didn't need that

at least my twice folding "tri fold" cover comes off in seconds..

..and cap .. more room..nooo.. last thing I needed was having to crawl around on my hands & knees every time I wanted to load my truck..
just thinking of it makes me wanna burn every cap in existence..HATE HATE HATE..much hate for those dammed things...

ok..I got it outta my system..I feel better now lol

it was one of those lear aluminum caps with the full height van style doors on the back .. take tailgate off
damed thing.. you ..CANNOT.. even fit an adult sized mountain bike through those stupid doors.. without taking the front wheel off..
which ... when taking a bike to the park ..WITH A FULL SIZE TRUCK...seems ludicrous...

THOUGH.. fugly as it was.. some magnetic "toronto animal control" signs on the doors..I coulda gone anywhere and parked everywhere..I'd wanted..lol

it WAS that fuggly

one truck storage box trick..

I have a large balck plastic storage box..late 80's early 90's truck accessories style

instead of bolting it down and being stuck with it too .. in/on the back of my truck

I hold it in place with two ratchet straps

I hook one to the tie down near the floor and run it up and across the top of the box.. at the hinge..then I hook the other end in the round hole in the side of the front stake pocket

I then add the second strap the opposite way across the top of the box at the hinge..

closing the box holds the straps trapped under the lid at the hinge.. holding the box centered and tight to the front of the truck bed

pop the straps off and like my cover.. it's stuffed outta the way in the garage in a couple of minutes

Sorry, I didn't mean to trigger you or give you flashbacks. Wow. I know not everyone likes them, but didn't think they were a cause of people needing their meds up'd.

I like mine because it keeps stuff inside dry, lockable, holds more than a tonneau cover and stuff doesn't fly out going down the road.

I have a bike rack that goes in the trailer hitch. Way easier than in the box.

I just removed one of those hard tonneau covers that hinge at the back of the cab.
I was trying to load some small branches and weeds from the side. It just did not
go high enough. It's a truck. Made to carry things. Not to look pretty.

I think I'm the only guy in the city with these but I love my astra hammond window louvers..
came from jegs.. list is around 100 bucks and a bit ..(USD)

they're just cheap floppy plastic .. not so floppy once installed though

- been on my truck for 7-8 years .. aging ok .. no issues

louvers are way better than tint for keeping temps down as they keep the sun off the glass in the first place..

and I've had a couple of large black dogs who rode co-pilot in the back of my cab over the years so they helped
