Chrome on the Canal 2022 will take place on Saturday July 2, 2022, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Our show is located on Highway 30 along the Banks of the Trent Canal in Campbellford, Ontario. We welcome all makes and models of vintage motorcycles, cars, and trucks. Please contact Event Co-ordinators John & Heather McEvoy at (705) 653-4523 or Bonnie McEvoy-Overland at chromeonthecanal@gmail.com for more information. This is a Rain or Shine Event!
It is my favourite show of the year but I doubt I'll make it. I have to:
1-install an electric water temperature gauge
2-find out why my signals & brake lights stopped working
3-figure out how to put gear shift linkage back together (I forget)
4-mount emergency brake cables so they actually work this time
The other 18 other things can wait.
Simple tasks for most here I have no doubt. I'll sort it out but I doubt I can do it in time for the show.
Yes, I know, if I heated the garage I could have done these things over winter. But I spent winter making headers in the basement.
Any tips or video links would be very much appreciated.
Hope to make it!! Doing a severe antifreeze leak on grandville, "missing grommet between t/cover & intake. started to "piss" out on 1st. drive!!! DAM!!!!

This is one of the must see shows, if you have the chance to get out there.
I use to take advantage of my sister-in-law living in town, spend the night then just walk down and spend the day walking up and down the canal and the military museum.

Just got the lowdown, the county wanted insurance, the town wanted insurance, and the OPP wanted permits, pretty bad that politics plays into a show being canceled forever,I wonder how much the town lost in revenue, for losing this great show. This is or was the only one I went to,a lot of the wife's family live there, and it was a great way to see them and meet new friends, RIP. John did a great job in putting this on.

Just because they cancelled a show doesn't mean we can't show up in droves and hang out and meet some people and thier rides.Pack a lunch and don't spend a dime at Timmys or any where in the town,This is bull$hit politics to cancel a show and tell people they shouldn't show up, I will be there and put the word out anyway you can that in this Comunist country we still have freedom to do what we want,

Just read a post on the Port Hope Cruisers site that the issue is with
the county and that the town has no issues with people bringing
there cars. What that means in terms of parking and an actual show
atmosphere is up to the individual. Ed
Hundreds of car and bike owners have messaged me to say they'll be there.. Had my Cadillac wrecked by a botched theft a week ago so if I'm there its on foot..

Was fantastic, lots of bikes and cars, only problem I saw was at Paul's place is when the cops showed up,someone that just moved in from the city complained about the music, they made him turn it down, other than that it was a good turnout
