Here's why I don't work on other owners vehicles - anymore!

Have been messin w/ mechanical things since knee high . . . . . .  to you know what. As a teenager always had a motorcycle (mostly Norton's) and some form of rusty ole rod. As time went on  learning from my mistakes & buddies helping out I got to fixing most breakdowns. In my neighbourhood I was the guy to ask if I could repair the Norton's that were running around. That went on for 20 or 30 yrs or so until the 90's when the Brit bikes lost favor w/ the younger crowd. In the early 2000's a younger brother of a close friend said he found his older brothers 69 Norton High Rider in a basement somewhere. I was asked to help bring the machine back to life - but on a limited budget. As I had a fairly large inventory of parts & still working on these machines - I agreed out of respect for my good buddy who bought it new in 69. Drove 200 k's one way to retrieve the machine in an enclosed trailer & returned it some months later (at no delivery charge).  It ran & performed well & he was happy at the price  that the project came in at! 10 yrs later or so when ever I tried visiting this younger brother he wasn't answering the door even w/ his vehicle in the driveway. This went on for a few yrs as I didn't get down his way much anymore. Last yr he answered the door & he started in on a tirade of sorts about how I switched out his original carbs! I know for a fact that I never replaced the carbs (he couldn't afford new ones at the time)  - he wasn't willing to listen to reason & became next to violent. One friendship down the drain. Still have a good relationship w/ the older brother though1971Freedom.jpg.  That's it - at 75 yrs old  I'm not in need of any extra aggravation.

I stopped years ago doing work for others. I find many and not all want it done for free or close to it.

Ohh, So I'm not the only one who feels like this....
Nothing gets my blood boiling than to have "buddies" get you to work on their stuff and complain about it...

Now I have the attitude that I will HELP you with your project, but I'm  NOT doing your project for you!
Wierd.... I seem to have more free time for my things now.
