Is it just me?

I know we have had some hard times during Covid, and things were slow - But - this place of late, seems to be terribly dead for posts?

Have we all got busy, or complacent?

So - I'll start - Is everyone ready and excited for Christmas?

Anyone got new projects, or revisions/upgrades planned to do to existing rides?

Wish lists?

I have a 1973 Javelin AMX that I am building as a drag car, that I could post in the build section - but didn't think of it as worthy, on a hot rod site.

Who is up next ??? biggrin    evileye   smile

I think it is just the time of year. Car season is sort of over, people are busy with the holidays coming up etc.
Post the Javelin, it's still a hot rod.

All forum traffic is down. I think a lot has to do with newer media types. Facebook, instragram, toktok etc.
Older guys aren't doing as much, younger guys don't frequent forums like this.

hey check out my ebay ad 1972 amc gremlin for some fun . But yeah even work is slowed down and i spend more time looking for ways to protect myself and our range and hunt camps from the liberals . We were going to stay in onterrible but with gta spreading north bringing gangs , crime and congestion with it . likely 50 % of our / mine computor time is looking at real estate in a different province or just away from toronto
And talking about your Javelin are you hooked up to the AMC posse over Orangeville Milton London area ?

Hey 77 - I am not hooked up with anyone for my Javelin as yet - the purists wouldn't like the 1400 hp twin turbo 6l LS that resides between the fenders.
The FB group has made that kinda stuff pretty clear.

Oh Oh . I hear ya on that one . I exploded a 401 with a 200 shot of NOS during a certain unsanctioned late night episode over by the toronto airport and guys literally stopped talking to me . THEN they got more upset when they found I had 5 more of them ha ha and wouldnt just give them away to fellow AMC,ers

The usual crap - you have to give it away because they want it - but try and buy something form them at a reasonable price smilesmilesmilesmilesmile

Still picking away at the 41.
I post on a few sites, lots of work to do so, so some get less attention.

Got a hood buck going for Christmas break. Not sure it the back can take any ewheel time though.

Yes, eventually.
The buck is a lot easier to make then the actual hood.
May take a year to finish it.

Mock up hinges installed:

I noticed my back got sore using the E wheel until I raised one foot on a block of wood. It helped and I'm sure you already know that but thought I'd mention it, just in case. It looks like you have a lot of wheeling ahead. Looks great so far !

that's making power bud.  have you run it yet or is there some assembly required, sort of thing. you can get some crazy hp spinning those LS motor's up from what i have been hearing.  if that doesn't make you smile you better see your doc with that power to weight ratio, lol.    good for you Ken.

I ordered a camshaft in September.
I wonder how long it will take. I gave myself a budget of a year and a half.
It may arrive in time.
Anyone being affected by this?

Lets see - I waited 6 months for rims that were in stock when I ordered, 9 months for a shifter, 4 months for a transmission shield, and various times for other mundane parts
nothing has come in the normal to me, 10-14 business days, in some 3 years now
good luck is all I can say

no sh!t on the waiting for stuff. i ordered a new tandem cab and chassis from I-H about 6 months ago and was told a 1 yr wait and ok, need the truck.
i called the dealer last week to order another single axle figuring on a yr wait and was told it is now 14 months. 3 yrs ago i could of went to any dealer in ontario and bought both both them on the same day. wtf
my caddy with the LS 6 motor was at the dealer waiting for head gaskets for 7 weeks this past spring.

16 years building Hot Rods,no point of being open when you can't get parts.

So much for small business or is that the global plan?

                        Thanks to all my customer's
