I think I know why you are looking for the 4x4, because it's a couple inches narrower than a 2wd....
When I built the Essex I used a 2wd from a 2000 s10 with 8" wide wheels and it filled the wheel well really nice... I have a build thread on here it may have pictures of what I did and how it turned out...
