Anyone going to Lindsay this weekend??? I am almost loaded and this is the last time for vending I think. Heading up Thur. morning to get the hydro plug in before they are all taken.

Went to Stirling to vend. Had a good time .but other than
the fun of meeting old friends it really wasn't worth loading
and unloading money wise. Now that the shows and cruise nights are up
and running I wonder if its worth it and wondering if people still
buy at fleamarkets . Ed
I have very few good parts to vend and have been doing well on marketplace with machines and equipment. Had a fellow come all the way from Perth on Sat. for a surface plate and would have been a chore to load 400 lb block of stone in his car at Lindsay. Sold many cabs, boxes and fenders on KIJIJI in the past with having to load and setting up at the swap meet. Then reloading to take home and then unload again at home what did not sell. Granted swap meets are a way of life for many old car guys but I think I am getting tired physically to do it much longer. I may keep one or two of my spots { the one with water and hydro} just in case I change my mind as it is a great meeting place as you say Ed.

We've been going for a bunch of years but decided after last year it's just too expensive in gas to go...
Last year we only had 1 good day and years before we sat in the rain or wind storms.... We did make some good friends and we did have a blast while we were there...
Its not just Lindsay we also are not going to Burls Creek either... Bonfield is in my back yard so I can save a few thousand on fuel, food, and booze.....and have just as much fun.....
To all you guys and gals going to Lindsay.. Have fun....

I'm guessing it has a lot to do with what you're trying to sell Ed, I had a fantastic year at Stirling, so did most of the vendors i chatted with over the coarse of the weekend..
Run of the mill stuff doesn't sell anymore, its too easy to find online if required. Until then, nobody wants to stockpile it like we once had too..

Had a great weekend also and did real well in sales and great weather for a change. Rather than end this year I downsized to 2 spots for next year. Good car show with the Horseless Carriage Club showed with 15 brass cars. Peter Fawcett came with his newly acquired 1907 Ford Model K 6 cyl. 436 cid engine and a beast of a car for the year . No kidding aside that car is the price of a small house

It was defiantly a beautiful weekend and a fun time with friends.
it was great to see so many Brass Era cars on display, something rarely
seen at shows these days. As for sales, well, I took what I thought was a good
variety. Some 55stuff,some S10 stuff,some script , sbc parts,and various visors
spoilers . I also brought a bunch of model kits. The models were the big seller
the parts not so much. Did I make my expenses, no I didn't , did I have a good time
with my friends, yes I did, am I signed up for next year, absolutely. Ed
