My rad cap sits inder my rad shell so it is hard to access. I have seen extensions on radiators that make the rad cap more accessible. Are they add ons or only available with a whole new rad ?

I guess what I was told in the begining was true, it is never finished.

When you made the shroud, did you not notice that you may need to access the cap at some point?
Perhaps you can cobble an inline filler to your upper rad hose?
