I’m heading out tomorrow morning for the coast. Anyone else heading east for this show? I haven’t been there for a few years. It was a great show then so I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Hopefully the weather co-operate. The 55 isn’t done, but I think I’ll take it anyway. We’ll see if I’m able to straighten out a few things today.
I wish you great luck sir. If anyone can do it, you will.
Dads truck lost the cam and try as I might I couldn’t get it all back together in time. Then Saturday the battery in the 55 was stone cold dead, yet fine Friday. I pulled the battery and stuck another in while I was checking the car over for the trip. Sunday am the new battery was stone cold dead as well……. So, instead of risking a lengthy stay on the side of the highway or worse, an electrical fire. The 55 is home with no battery in it. Guess I have some work to do when I get home………
We should make plans for heading out here together for next years show. Perhaps we could hit Syracuse on the way home as well??
I hope the couple of rodders we past in Kingston this am we’re ok. We couldn’t get all the way over to the shoulder in time as traffic was heavy there. Looked like two cars pulled over, a white and blue Ford and I couldn’t see the other one because of the transports, just that there was a second set of rims there…..

That's a good plan right now. Yes I would definitely head to Syracuse right after the Atlantic Nationals.

I have been to the national in Moncton a couple of times some yrs ago with my bud when he was living in Memramcook, close to Moncton. My 50 f-1 truck which i inherited from him won something there for the new paint job at the time, about 15 yrs ago. A lot of guy's around here, Belleville, go to Syracuse yearly but my wish list show is the Woodward cruise in Detroit.

Don't waste your time or money on Woodward. It has become a freek show with mostly new mustangs, camaros and corvettes. I used to go every year until the big three took over the street. Syracuse is infinitely better and Moncton even surpasses that.
Warren
yes Rick as Warren said don't waste your time on Woodward. It's mostly newer stuff and a zoo. IF you can find a spot to park it's going to cost you $20-$50 just to park. I hear Flint "Back to the Bricks" is really good but I've never been there. It goes on for about a week.

Well guys. I’ve been out here for 24hr so far. Went out for breakfast with my wife. Found a great spot on main called the tide boar, fantastic cafe in the same building. There are some very very nice rides prowling the streets today. Saw a wicked looking 40 Four sedan this am. Perfect stance, rims, baby moons and rims. Very nicely turned out and sounded very nice on its way by us. A few nice looking C10s, an A sedan on a trailer ( I would say’s something about being a trailer queen, but mine didn’t make it and theirs did so good on them) an orange late 30s Chev and a few mustangs and such. I’m headed to the Action Accessories cruise in tonight to meet up with some other Quinte West rodders and see what turns up.
I’m already making plans for a return trip next year. I’ll see if I can figure out how to post pics as the weekend goes on.
Went to the Action Car and Truck Accessories cruise night 2023 last night. It’s one of the precursor events of the Atlantic Nationals. What a turn out. A fantastic selection of cars and trucks from all over, we saw a number from Ontario, Quebec, P.E.I, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and even the states. Ran into a hot rodder from Belleville there, showing off his beautiful Merc. Always a crowd pleaser, there was a number of people checking out the custom touches. I think the 55 Chevy dash in it may have been the most talked about feature, but it would be hard to pick any one feature that stands out the most on the very well turned out car.
I’m trying to figure out how to post pics here. I have lots, so I’ll stay at it (suggestions and directions welcomed……LOL)
As was this nice truck. Look closely at the bottom grill bar…..
Sneaky advertisement for what’s under the hood. I think the fella said he’s had the truck for 30 plus years. A long time anyhow and has made many trips to the east coast with it over the years
That’s all I was able to take last night. If you have the chance, this is a great Canadian show that deserves our support. They’re all all kinds of pre main event shows/ things going on. Today they have a big cruise through the area with a stop at a local shop and a drive in movie for the registered participants. Tomorrow a few blocks of main st is closed to regular traffic and it will be filled with show cars and vendors. It runs from 8am through to midnight with live music starting around 6pm. I’ve been told the headlining band tomorrow night is Big Sugar!!

dang, can't read it, the bottom bar. give me a hint would you.
There is a bow tie in the middle of the bottom bar. Sounded rowdy when he fired it up. Very nice looking truck for sure. To bad he put a chev in a Ford, but you can’t win them all…..LOL

just curious when i seen the model, i had to snoop is all. that's a good show down there and they still have some old time fun, it has been a lot of years since i have been there now.
We have an entire year to plan for a caravan of hot rods from back home to this show. The air b&b market has solved the hotel room costs and eating out expenses. I have been to shows all over Ontario, some in Quebec, some in the northern states and this one. Hands down this show is worth the investment to attend.
Today we went to the Main Street cruise where four or five blocks are shut down for show cars, vendors and the public to attend. At 6pm tonight they have three bands lined up for live music. The last band tonight is Big Sugar. Should be a great night down there.
Tomorrow the main gates of Centennial Park Moncton open up for the Atlantic Nationals. It seems there are more cars rolling in every hour.
Make plans folks, make plans. This is a great show!!!!
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the extraordinary hospitality bestowed upon us today at the Tide and Boar on Main st Moncton. In our group we are traveling with we have an individual that utilizes a mobility scooter. We were baking in the heat and sun while we enjoyed the sights at the cruise in on Main st. When we looked for a place to have lunch, we found that there were very few places that we would be able to get the scooter into easily. The fine folks at the Tide and Boar went out of their way to make sure we were able to get into their establishment AND they helped us with a locked indoor parking spot for the scooter as well. Then they proceeded to make sure our party had every tee needed to accommodate mobility issues. Top notch service and top notch food. Check them out if you’re ever near Moncton. You will not be disappointed.
Here is a pic of him talking with one of our group after we finished our lunch.
Every side street was utilized by show cars as well. So many cars that they were parked in the sur lots as well, just like the Action Accessories cruise night that happened on Wednesday evening
I wasn’t able to get a peek under the hood of the red 55 gasser at the Action Accessories cruise night this past Wednesday. However they were downtown today as well. So here’s what is powering this beast and a pic of the creature comforts for the lucky folks that ride around in it.
That’s about it from today.
Sorry my photo skills aren’t the best. I’ll keep playing with the settings to see if I can increase the quality of the pics.
Tomorrow is the big show. Looking forward to spending more time looking at all the amazing vehicles attending.
