Well - seems I stumbled upon a truck I have wanted for some 52 years - short box unibody Custom Cab 4x4 - with the Big back window.

And here it is all in one package

Currently has a 289 and C4 trans with a divorced transfer case

The project will be to add front disc brakes, an overdrive transmission, power windows, A/C, some body work - typical rust in some of the seams - add new paint, and an updated interior.

Would love an old set of aluminum slots - but that is a far fetched hope in an 8 bolt 16" rim. 15's might work, and 16.5's you can not get tires for anymore.

the story - Heard about a guy over Whitby way who is liquidating a huge collection of cars because he sold his property to a developer, and he is in his late 70's so not likely to do any more builds.

He had over 150 cars.

He is down to some 35 decent builders, and a yard full of what I call parts cars, although some could be saved easily enough.

I went to see a 1956 Meteor Ranch Wagon.

Got there - saw the ranch Wagon - made the deal.

He says - you can not leave until you see the rest of my collection - you might find something of interest.

So we go through his 8 car garage and then his huge outbuilding that seemed to go on forever.

All divided into rooms.

I entered the last room and saw this truck and had to have it.

I left the Ranch Wagon there, as I could not afford to buy two vehicles.  biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

cuz I would have to change out the rear axle as it is an older dana 60 for which there doesnt seem to be any kits for - and its money I do not have  - but you know - if you have a disc brake dana 60, 70 or 80 or even a 14 bolt to donate to the cause biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
