No, it isn't just a rumour. Chris came by my place one day and got to looking over my ride and made some wonderful suggestions, among them, how to fix my door window issue.
My dash isn't from a model A so I could never open or close my door windows unless I opened the doors first. The dash was too close to the window cranks. I thought I'd have to cut away part of the dash or change the dash entirely.
But Chris pointed out that model A doors were identical left and right and could be swapped side to side if I just moved the window cranks to the rear of the doors instead of the front. So smart, that guy.
It took a bit of work since I had never tried before plus the passenger door was banged inward where the crank sits but I managed to pull the damaged area out with some clamps and a metal rod until it sat flush and then the glass slid into place nicely.
Now I know my ride a little better, gained a litle more experience to pass on some day and now I can open & close my windows while en-route. HOORAY !
Thank you for your kindness and offering to come and help if needed Chris. What a nice guy !
