Jacksons Wrecking Yard

So I just spent the best morning with my son and my 2 friends. We prowled

Jacksons yard in Kendal for most of the morning. It was so worth playing

hooky from work. If you have not been to this yard it sucks to be you because

it is acres and acres of very rusty relics from the 30s to the 60s. There are latterly

rows and rows of vintage tin. Most are rusted back to mother nature but the trucks

and vans are full of stuff. I was able to score some backup light bezels and grill

parts and spare mirrors foe my 66 suburban. My buddy got a good bumper for his

40COE and my other buddy got some script for his collection. My son laughed as I wen't

thru a row of doors , I asked what was so funny and he said that's the same pile you

went thru last time we were hear about 10yrs ago looking for parts for his Javelin,

. Unfortunately they had not improved with age . It was really cool to see all the other

people today walking around with there treasures. Dads and kids, families ,and people

just taking pictures, last yard of its kind that I know about and I guess people just want

the experience again.

. You gotta go before they close it for good at the end of the month.

I did hear they might open the building and the barn in the spring. Now that is where

all the really good stuff is and it will be a real treasure hunt. It really was a great day

with my son and my good friends. Ed

I had planned to go this weekend but my electrician showed up foiled my plans. Been waiting since April, I wasn't going to tell him no.
