Does anyone here use Lucas oil ?  I understand it is good because it contains zinc for older engines.

You can buy zinc additive.

Zinc additives don't always mix properly with newer oils or are not compatible. Zinc is generally required when breaking in a new cam or immediately after a build. There are several oils out there that contain zinc. I prefer Brad Penn.

I think I will stop buying the zinc additive and start getting either Lucas or Brad Penn, whichever is easier to get. LGKustoms makes great videos: www.youtube.com/watch. - and in this one, at 30 minutes into the video, he explains why he likes Lukas 20/50. And the video is great for learning to wire ! Thank you Wuga and Jarvis. So much to learn and this is the best school - old school.

Brad Penn is now called Penn Grade and yes, I think they shared the facilities of Kendall. Jim, I am sure from previous conversations that you have bought this before.

Yes, we bought some on sale but got refunds.

Why we got refunds. The Brad Penn was listed on Ebay for $110 and indicated a 12 bottle pack. When it arrived, there was only one bottle. Ebay would do nothing. I contacted Jim and he told me he had the same experience. He returned his and got a full refund, I returned mine and got back about $10. I fought and finally gave up chalking it up to another life lesson. I have since been buying mine from W O Stinson, a large distributor in eastern Ontario.

Now I know about W O Stinson. This pastime has taught me a lot and not all has been about turning wrenches. I am still waiting for a part from Florida and if it never arrives, I can't say I'll be surprised. I guess I am addicted to gambling now ?

Cuddles,
Have reading your posts you say that this is a hobby or pastime. It looks to me that you've crossed a threshold long ago and now this is your lifestyle perhaps obsession.
Lol..... keep on truckin'

Yeah every time I write "hobby" I think it isn't the word I am looking for. Lifestyle would just be a polite way of saying obsession. And yes, I think I qualify for the later since I wake with thoughts of wiring and lay my head on the pillow with thoughts of how I can modify that clamp I made. A curse and a blessing. I still think of my dog frequently every single day 9 years later but my obsession is fulfilling it's purpose and keeping my head and hands occupied. Thank you 30 S6. Apart from learning, the bonus is meeting so many nice people. Even when my car isn't on the road, it's still quite a journey.
