mandrel bends

On Friday I had the opportunity to visit a machine shop that was making up railings for a local business.  The top rail was formed aluminum tubing and there wasn't a kink in any bend, and there were a lot of bends.  I wondered out loud how they got such a clean bend and they told me they were done by a local garage.  Today I contacted the garage and was told that although it isn't a true mandrel bender, it is a very high quality unit with really good shoes that can produce a wrinkle free bend on quality tubing.  The garage is Clark's Automotive in Wellington ON.  I told them I was going to put this out there and they were OK with it.  I know this isn't for everyone, but it is getting really hard to find anyone who can do mandrel or near quality mandrel bends today.  True mandrel benders are going the way of the dodo bird, so if you know of one or anyone in your area that does these type of quality bend, please chime in.

I have a Pro Tools tube bender. It works very well, designed for making roll cages, tube bumpers etc.
I have 1" and 1.5" round dies as well as a 1" square tube die.

Wow, Clark's is right close to you Wuga. If my homemade tube bender doesn't work out, I will check out Clark's. That's great news. Still, I am hoping my bender works. You never know, it is possible ? Thank you Wuga.
