Does anyone know if a 1940 gauge cluster would fit into a 1942 ?  And what is the ballpark for an old, unrestored gauge cluster ?

Is it locally available, can you hold it next to yours, is the glass clear, is the paint in nice condition, will you have to spend $4-5 hundred to repair it?

I had my doubts, but is appears as though 1940 car is the only year that fits in the trucks.

It is in Seagrave just NE of Uxbridge. (Eric Thomas has it. I got hub caps & my sun shade from him. I wonder if I can just remove the speedometer and fuel gauge from it & put them in mine. I won't know if either work until I install it. Although I guess I could take a drill and cable to test the speedo.
