I have been using a cheapy rolling stool that my son bought from CTC.  Not real nice to use but the price was right. The wheels are only about 1 1/2" so it gets caught on every little piece of crap on the floor.  A while ago I seen a better one but at $450.00 US that was not happening.  It had some cool features on it.  So I thought I could build one cheaper.  I reached out to lightspeed Mike to see if he could cut up some steel in a similar pattern.  He was given some creative freedom as long as it was strong enough to handle me.  He cut out the steel and the round holes are dimple died.  Then some welding to hold it together.  The American version was bolted together, probably so it could be shipped easier.  I cleaned it up and used some spray paint to make it red.  The version I seen was powder coated.  I did not care about that, after all it is a shop chair, going to get scratched anyway.  My wife found some foam for a seat and some leather to wrap it up.  The seat has some plywood as a base and comes off.  That way it could be used as a knee pad.  Bought some 4" swivel casters off Amazon.  I have a mid rise hoist so sitting and kneeling are the way I need to work on my truck.  Thought it turned out very cool.
