angle grinder storage

I go through a grinder in about 6 months to a year, sometimes new, sometimes 2nd hand.  But my big problem is having it handy when I need it but close to store it.  I found a way that works (for me - maybe for you too).

I see a lot of guys on youtube have no guard on their grinders.  I guess that's common.  But I still have my guard and all my fingers on.  BUT if you have a spare guard from an old junk grinder, use the guard for a mount.  It works great !

I just tacked on a couple of small 'wings' to close in the open side of the guard a little.  The tool goes in and out quick and easy.

Now I just have to improve my welds so I don't need the grinder as much !

The vise holds a piece of angle iron with all my vise grips and another vise attached.  If I want to use the lower vise, I just lift out the angle iron with everything on it.  So my bench stays clear with everything handy.  The grinder handle fits in a hole in the angle iron so I don't knock the tool since it sits at the corner where walking traffic often goes.

Cool idea! I'm jumping on that one. I have a couple of pooched grinders that can parted out for such a cause. Good show man, thanks for the heads up.
