U.S. shipping costs
Permalink

Hey guys,

Recently I tried to source some go-kart inner tubes from the U.S.  The tubes themselves were only $7.95 each US. I was going to order 2. I asked what the shipping might be and the reply was $50.00 !!

I almost sh!t !

Have any of you needed such an item and are aware of a Canadian Distributor? The tube size is 11 X 7.1 - 5

Thanks - Randy

Princess Auto carries a bunch of small inner tubes. I got some for the lawn tractor. They might have what you need.

Thanks Cuddles. I've had a look there, but this tube size- while common in go-karting - isn't that common elsewhere. To add to the difficulty, almost all kart and golfcart tires are tubeless now. This kart is a Bicknell frame ( Bicknell Racing Products right next door in St Catharines) and even though they have an extensive catalogue of available parts.......they only carry tubeless tires. It's just an old race frame we've had for years and I'm rebuilding it for our Grandchildren.

And with the prices of diesel , that knocks the soul out of a weekend fun run to states for parts . Can you get the supplier to send it United States postal service

Do you know someone in USA that will receive it and then mail it to you?

Well.......my oldest son had a U.S. mailbox just across the river. I'll have to see if he still has it. That would also be a good excuse to visit a Mexican restaurant we like over there as well. Good thought guys!

So, my solution?..........since the rims are 2 piece I drilled a hole in the back ( inside) half of the rim, installed two 4.10 -6 tubes and inflated each to the same pressure. Simple and less B.s. than dealing with the Border.
