Hate to be the party pooper, but the time it takes is usually about 5 to ten times more than estimated.

Retirement helps a lot. If I had still been working the Torpedoback would still be in pieces, & no time for 'road trips" to get parts down south or Summit wknd trips to Ohio. If I was still working I wouldn't have bought the car either, needed a full time job in the garage & this did it!!!! This winter it's 2 lists of things to get done on the 64 Cat. 2+2 & the Torpedoback so I'll have to slow down to make it last!!!

Great find! Looks like you are on a good pace to 'gitter dun' for spring? A buddy of mine has been tinkering with a '40 Chev for a few years now- we think it will be good to go in the year 2020!

You just answered my question. I also have a front steer rack, but your spindles look beefier than the TCI 2 piece ones I used. Looks good !!

Rochie
The rad was made by AFCO www.afcoracing.com/ and it was purchased from Speedway Motors www.speedwaymotors.com/ I have purchased a lot of product from them and it has been all good .They have a great garage sale section of sale items .

Rick
The rear is a 9" ford with 3:50 gears in it . It was in the car when I bought it . If you have other questions just ask . Rick if you go to this web page it has all the info manuals from 1940 ,1941,1942 as well as many more  http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/index.htm

Wow, looking good.

Don't be surprised if you decide to upgrade to a power rack ... I went with a manual, wished I had gone power, sold the car after several years of ownership/driving (not because of the rack) and the new owner installed a power rack so it wasn't just me.

I spy an A/C unit too ... that is something else I wish I had installed when I built it.
