Finally got around to registering for this site. Fleet 51 had asked me months ago and never seem to have the time. I have lived in the Hamilton area all my life. Our family was very involved in Stock Car racing from the early 50's so it was natural when I raced for about 10 years at Speedway Park in Hamilton, Merritville Speedway in Thorold and Humberstone in Port Colborne. Finally sold the race cars in late 70's and built our 1940 Chev 2 door sedan which we still have. Bought it the day before my son was born and he will be 36 in 3 weeks. Longest I have kept any car. Also have a '65 Chev pickup, the wife's 1957 Chev sedan and a couple of British cars. I am the chapter head of the Inliners club in Ontario and have owned quite a few Inline powered vehicles, including the '65 Pickup and the '57 Sedan. Dec 28 240A.JPG65 chev truck painted.jpg Love what I have saw of the forums so far.

Welcome form the North Shore of Lake Erie ( Port Burwell area ),...great looking '40 Chevy,..and equally as nice '57. Any idea where to purchase windshield wiper Arms for the '39 / 40's,...I desperately need one for my '39 Buick.

 Chev's of the 40's in Washington I think it is Ron Wade who runs it. Has some pretty nice pieces. My cousin just outside London finished up a '39 Buick street rod with a small block in it a couple of years ago. Nice looking cars

 We have a 1971 Triumph Stag with a 3.8L General Motors late 80's V6 auto that we have up for sale and am in the process of restoring a 1970 MGB split bumper roadster but it has been ongoing for a couple of years. The daughter picked up a nice 1970 Chevelle so we have been helping her get that back together for the last year or so.....good thing I am semi retired to have time for our cars..lol

 Thanks Don, I'll take responsibility for the Falcon but the Comet was that way when we bought it for Dad. Nice brace of Brit cars you've got there but a V6....what happened?

It has sometimes been alleged that Triumph were instructed to use the proven all-aluminium Rover V8 in the Stag. Minor fit problems were probably resolved by the use of the V6, a direct descendant of the aluminum V8. Although I love inliners, those fours and sixes in British cars just don't cut it. Good looking Stag. That Rover V8 would look great in the B.

 Warren, the Stag originally came 2ith a 3.0L V8 but it was not the Rover motor which would have been much better. The V8 in the Stag was an overhead cam motor. I had heard at one time that it was designed by using 2 of the 4 cyl motors together but these cars had a lot of cooling problems right from the start with head gaskets and water pumps so I am assuming the motor in my car went sour and they converted it to a V6 that they had handy. Fits nice and looks good in the car. I will have the car at the British Flea Market in Ancaster tomorrow. Calling for nice weather..Motor 007.jpg

Thanks Chris. I remember your Chevelle when it had the original motor in it and we talked to you at CanalFest last summer. I think you had the Chevelle for sale there.

That's right Don. I finally sold it back in October. Its gone to a guy in Cambridge. I really liked it when it had the 250 in it but it just wouldn't sell. To be honest, even with the 350 it took a long while to sell. Soft market I guess. My latest build is my avatar...it had a 235 with 3 on the tree...now sporting a tri-power 348 and 5-speed.

Will be looking for ya at area events...don't forget about our ELTA bash in August!
