well my ride for this summer is going to be ??????? the 65 galaxie .....after buying it from the last owner who had done a major restoration back in 1986 to 88 than the car end up being in storage for lot of years.................. i bought it a few years ago ..........someone when had try to start the car and the result the low mileage rebuild 390 end up with a bend push rod .............so i bought the car and all the top of the engine heads intake carb and pieces where all in the trunk so to make it short this summer is going to be the first time on the road for the rag top and i just can t wait to floor the gas pedal lollllllllllllllll
Nothing better than anticipation. I am in the same boat with my 49 cheby, the body work is near completion and then out comes the paint eeehaw. Just cant figure out a colour other than flat black...lol The 55 ford is a piece of Canadian history that was built in 1956 and restored in 1985-1990 she is called Poisn Kandy. Poisin for the lead that was used and Kandy for the paint.. And hey a little bit of lead never killed anyone..lol I am sure many new memebers will remember the car from some of the mags and shows it was in over the years. One of the editors from Old Autos wants to do a spread on it with the original builder. His name was Tinker [ Marshall ] Hinton from Nova Scotia now residing in Lindsay somewhere. I met him this past summer and lost his phone # So if anyone knows how to get in touch with him please let me know.
who has the Poisin Kandy, i hope it still in Canada , i like old cars that have history canadian............... for some people it don t mean anything but .................i could have bought a Galaxie in better condition from the states but really to me it s only a usa car .............the one i have i meet people who remember the local owner driving it in the 80 s ..it just great fun
I own Poisn Kandy and it is still as fine as when Sparky was showing it all over the U.S and winning all those awards with it. The last owner that had it had it for over 20 years and put 800 miles on it. It took me over 2 years of working on him and a very nice 52 chev to aquire it. I just finished installing a custom headliner and repairing a crack in the drivers door. I am just the care taker of a cool piece of history. I drive it and show it at different venues throughout the summer. I also have the 49 chev and the 50 ford so sometimes it is a challenge on what one to take...lol
This is my 88 Dodge that I build with the help of a couple of friends. It's 88 frame and running gear with a lot 82 sheet metal. Got thinking this might not the post for this but what the Hell!

I am in love with Poisn Kandy it is one of my favorite '55/'56 Fords. Can't wait to see it this summer (hopefully I'll get the chance). Also I love that white '56??? Chrysler??.
Mod father, did that 49 Chevy Coupe come from the Oshawa area??? Also recognize the 51 or 52 Ford P'up "Mad Murray" had or has?? it, in Janetville Ont. Don't know if you sold it to him or visa versa??? Nice flett you have, Pete

BTW, that IS me tree'n Kenny. My present progject has been on hold for a while since my wife was in the hospital (for 10 Weeks!) but the body is in the body shop now and should come home in primer in the next couple of days - then I can fasten it down to the chassis and start wack'n the top.
Ther's been a few more in there too, like a second 35 Flatback, a '67 Vette etc. - I'll have to start digging through some old pics
