Most of us have had them, the older guys anyways. Cars or trucks we wish we never would have gotten rid of. Mine was my 55 Chevy, first car I rebuilt from the ground up. Had it 16 years (77-93), sold it in 93. I had just finished my Pontiac and got a deal on my Ford F1, that I couldnt turn down. Had a 2 car garage, so felt that something had to go. Had both the Pontiac and the Chevy sort of on the market and buyers seemed more interested in the Chevy, so away it went. I saw it at a small dealership in Bolton a couple of years later and then in a guys yard in Caledon East the next year. I talked to the lady there, but he hubby never got back to me....Since then, nothing
I'd like to find out where it is now, I know I cant afford to buy it back. Heres a couple of pics if anyone has seen it in their travels.
The one's I regret the most is my '58 Bel Air, and my first car, '68 Buick Wildcat (430CI). They were both great looking and fun cars. I'll have to scan some pics one of these days.
i don t think i have to many i regret selling cause usually they were ready for scrap when i was done i may have one or 2 i regret abusing or used for demolition derby................ lolllllllllllllllll really i think it s more the future cars i have................. that i may eventually have to sell when i get older
I don't have a pic but my "64 Rambler Classic 990 hardtop. Blew the AMC motor, planted a small block Ford with an adaptor on the tailstock to mate up with the AMC posi torque-tube. Went like stink and surprised a lot of people.
Found a pic online of what the car looked like - this isn't my car.

Another one I regret getting rid of was my 1st car....63 Falcon ragtop, much like yours Randy....same colours anyways. Scrapped it just because the engine blew.
I have sold to help pay bills some times life sucks but like any addiction I have learned to adapt from dream cars to affordable cars. Still in the game but only as a bit player.

Ya life and bills .I never sold anything because I wanted to always cause I had to .The one I miss the most is my 56 Canadian Pontiac same as the Chevy only fancier,I had a 300hp small block that would scare the heck out of passengers(maybe it was my driving),next fave 48 Pontiac torpido 454 blue the engine, first car 62Austin 850 only ran 3 days a week fun to drive when it ran ,don't really miss that one.Wow thanks a lot now I'm really depressed.Oh well back to the yard to work on my 66 Suburban I've owned it since 78 still runs fine needs cosmedics.I will live in this one befor I would sell it.Anyway enjoy them while you own, them use them, and make memories . Ed
I was building a channeled, fenderless 30 Model A coupe with a big block chev and automatic. Was complete and ready to disassemble for finish paint but I decided to go back racing so I sold it. The guy finished it and drove it for a while but for the last 8 years it has been sitting outside his garage half tarped over rusting away. I need to pursuade my wife that I will rebuild it for her so I can buy it back.

I have attached some photos of the car I owned before buying the '55 I currently own. I didn't have the car for sale but a fellow came along at a car show who reeeeeally liked it and reeeeeally wanted it and ultimately met my price. I don't regret selling it as I had almost nine years of ownership with it and it was a great car. It is a Canadian (Oshawa in Feb of '66) built 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. It was ordered from a dealer in B.C. with a 325 hp 396 and a Muncie M20 four speed. It has a 3:31 12 bolt in the back along with no power steering and no power brakes! Drum brakes all around. It has the in-dash tach where the clock would normally reside. Marina blue paint with bright blue buckets/console interior. It was/is a great car and went to a new home in Montreal a year and half ago. A handful at times to go around corners and stop but it went like hell in a straight line!
Yes that's Dennis Gage in the last photo...taken at Hawkesbury car show in 2010.

No the cash is sitting in a rusty old Beaumont...(another story of betrayal)
He told me he wanted my car for a "driver", as he was retiring, and selling off his 11 pontiacs and 10 GTO's I thought car was going to a good home, not to a hoarder... PMO
enough of sadness I used to trust people not anymore
The one car I'm "kicking my ass" for selling was my 56 Nomad Wagon. California car, nice solid car, But went thru a "divorce" & had to sell it. Lost all contact w/car untill last Sept. at the Stouffville Auto show, & there it was sitting on the show field. Went back to it 3 or 4 times nobody there so I left a note in car. 2 wks. later a lady called me from around Orrilla. Had a long talk w/her & filled her in on some history of car & NO WAY was the car "FUR SAIL"!!! DAM I tried!!! Burgandy & cream, rolled & pleated black interior. same int. but had repainted the car, same colours but w/ghost flames!!! Will look for some pics.????

Well; where do you start? 69 COPO Chevelle, 427-425. my favourite car; 67 Corvette 427-435, nice car; 66 Corvette 427-425, really nice car; 65 Corvette, full custom, Mouse Landon did the car for the show circuit, super street car; 68 Corvette, 427-400, pretty good car; 68 Strato Chief, 2dr, 427-385; oops, I still have that one; 68 Beaumont SD, 396-350, Oh, I guess I still have that one too. We all have cars we should have kept and I guess thats what makes the survivors worth so much money. Time goes so fast that it seems like yesterday that I owned these things. Then, we still keep buying these old cars. I now have a 52 Willys that I saw come through the A&W in Brantford back in 1966 with a 322 Buick and a straight axle. I looked for that car for 32 years before I found it and was lucky enough, I guess, to buy it. I took the straight axle out, put a mustang front end in it, a pro street frame, set it up for small block chev. and then decided a hemi would suit it better, bought a hemi and then; oh well someday I'll get back to it, although I'm certainly getting pretty old to get all my projects done. I also ended up with a 55 Ford Panel truck that I repowered, had the body done and then sat it on the back burner for future consideration. One night a coupe of years ago a local character accosted me at a cruise night here and indignantly said, "why don't you sell those cars and let somebody enjoy them". Whatever could that gentleman be thinking, that is to say, does he really think I don't enjoy those cars. Did he think he could get them for nothing? I can talk about them with other people, just like we talk about the cars we should have kept. I don't need to impress anyone with my cars; most people don't even know I own them. Its just part of our hobby, talking about what we have and what we had. To get back to what this forum is all about, I remember back in the mid 60's that not everyone was enamored about the muscle car era. They stuck to the old hot rod ideas where they would still build a car that they thought could compete with the new cars. For the most part it didn't work out although we certainly had a legend here in Brantford that certainly put a damper on the new cars, didn't it Tim.
