Well here goes. I was turned onto this site from a HAMBer that goes by the name of "screwball" over on the HAMB. I was born in British Columbia but spent most of my time growing up in Dubai, U.A.E. I have apprenticed at a kustom shop in California and am currently cruising around a 1956 Ford Customline in Etobicoke, On. I moved to Etobicoke because that is were I am going to college. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I am pretty new to Ontario, I'll see if the very very few guys I know will join up. California was awesome. I am currently undecided of what I want to do in life. That's why I am just taking a General Arts & Science University Transfer Program. I know I move around a lot. But I plan on sticking in Ontario for atleast the next two years. I am sure you guys will see me around this summer as I drive my car everywhere. It has been across to many States and Provinces to list.

The last 3 years I've been working landscaping and handy-man jobs, but I'm not getting anywhere and I'm not feeling 'fulfilled' in what I've been doing. I'm exploring the option of going back to school for something and thought about maybe the vehicle custom/restoration type job might fit me better?? because of my love for vintage vehicles and I really enjoyed working on my truck... may I ask why you're not pursuing that direction after your apprenticeship? Hey, I am not saying I am not going to pursue it anymore. I kind of found life passing by rather fast after high school. I wanted to go get some education while I was still young. I must say though it was a huge struggle being in that industry. There wasn't a whole lot of money to be made. But it sure as hell was fun and fulfilling. I will ALWAYS be building cars weather it's for myself, freinds, or customers. I may find after college that I will go back to kustoms, but in the meantime I am trying to get as much education as I can.
Thanks, it's one of those cars that look good from a-far but far from good I have so much plans for it though. Hopefully someday when I get a two car garage, a welder, and some cut off wheels I can start to cut the sucker up.
Car was an amature restoration when I bought it. I say amature because some farmer built it in Saskatchewan and WOW. Floorpans were seam seeled in and there is lots of ****ty patch panals and bondo. I shaved the door handles and the emblems. I did some other minor things here and there.
As soon as the weather gets better I need to start buting ass on it to get it ready for Santa Maria. I need to get it lower, do some motor work, do a sterio and mount my skirts. Problem is I have no garage, tools, and I am not the best when it comes to mechanicals

Hey Mitch... thanks for the reply, sorry I misunderstood what you meant. That's the thing about that industry, money may not be there, and I'd like to get away from "struggling" lol. Its too bad because it would be fulfilling but if I can't make a living perhaps I need to explore other options.

Keep your head up. Keep at it and don't give up. Kustom cars are the best and most fulfilling reward. I love it man. I may not be doing it right now. But I plan to always be in it. Can't wait to start hacking up my '56 again.
Hahahaha I find it difficult to write down where it says Location: on the HAMB. It's a big world out there might as well experience it. Seems like a good group of hot rodders a kustom guys in Ontario though. I'm excited to start doing some shows here.
