welcome Duane.....Looks like you are our 100th member (says 101, but I am on twice...lol)....No prize or anything, just thought you should feel special......Sounds like a great bunch of projects you have...we would like to see some pics
Welcome Duane! That's quite the assortment of rides you got there... more pics! Bedford's are cool, when I first saw one a few years back I didn't really like it, but they've grown on me lol
Yes,its the Bedford on kijiji. Grew on me too. I like 'different'. I guess thats why I like my Stude pee-cup,cause you just don't see them everyday. The Bedford was to be a drag car,but that changed. Good project for someone, who wants to have a crowd of people around them, lol.
hey guys..just an update..owned the Studebaker for almost 9 years now. its been threw a couple changes. started out I changed the stock straight axle to a camaro sub-frame.stock rearend to a 12 bolt,4:56 gears with ladderbars and coilovers.then last winter ,I went back to a straight axle ,1948 Ford truck,10 bolt rearend,,3:73 gears. its had 400 turbos (presently),350 turbo,700 r4's..two 400 sbc,tunnelrammed...one on steroids, the other mild...now a baffed out 350 I purchased from a buddy,lol... always liked the gasser look...lately I have been looking for a new winter project. been leaning towards a tall t,coupe or roadster.. the wifes been saying all along, put the money into the stude,so,guess what...I've decided to tear into the truck soon as the weather changes for the worse..plans are,new tube sub frame up front, with the existing axle, and maybe a rack instead of the worn out 1948 steering box..a vega box is an option also...I want to get a better ride out of the truck, without loosing the gasser look..I'm going back to the 12 bolt,1966-67 chevy 2 rearend with the ladders and coilovers and 4:46 gears..under the hood, a fresh 383 with 671 huffer should work, with a 400 turbo and gear vendors overdrive...seriously thinking of suiciding the doors and tilt front end..if the budjet allows, a body and paint job ,with green metal flake and white fenders and roof...here goes nothing,lol..
Thanks for the welcome guys. 427 Carl, the bantam is gone.sure miss it.it went back to Michigan this past January. The new owner lives 3 miles from Milan Dragway. He loves it. He put it in the basement at Cobo this year too.Going to pick up tig and plasma next week.Just put in new garage door (overhead) and going to install new garage furnace and man door, put IROC ragtop in storage......then Studebaker time..woohooo.
