I was there in Detroit, 1959.
Saw the first Ramchargers "High and Mighty" there.

Rodmaster thanks for posting that site!!

Interesting site, brings back some memories for sure!!

My how times have changed since then, not to mention the amount of "science" that has been developed in suspensions, engine technology, tire compounds etc etc. (oh yeah, forgot to mention the Electronics!!)

Notice the almost nil safety standards present, no retaining walls, guys standing along the track, guess they thought at that time the pagewire fence was sufficient! Lol!!

Re: The "Green Monster",, that must be "Early" Art Arfons.

(Bet "E.J. Potter-The Michigan Mad Man" was just becomming of age watching there!!)

That is cool. Thanks for posting it. I'm too young to have experienced Gassers or the real fuel altereds but have always been intrigued. Of course it was big in the U.S. but was it as big here?

Another Drag Racing Video 1955 Chevy "kiss with death"

I'm sure most have seen this video of a guy who looses control of his 55 chevy, does a barrel roll, ejects the driver and flings the drivers seat 150 feet in the air, the guy gets up brushes off his pants and stands there looking disgusted, i hope he was wearing a diaper, its one hell of a ride.........

Lol,, Yeah, what a ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Possibly a little slack on secure items?)

Was a cool looking 55 though.

Any ideas why i can't send this to my son?? Pop up states something about it isn't available. ??

Forgot,, Anyone have the you tube of a turqoiuse 55 chev doing a big barrel roll at the end of the quarter.????????????????

I had it a few years ago , but cannot locate it now.??? A brutal wipe out!!
