63 Acadian Beaumont Wagon AKA the rat wagon

i've posted about her on steves nova site and canadian poncho but she is a hot rod, so heres the story. there wasn't enough to restore because of good old ontario salt so i didn't feel to bad about hacking her up. right now i've got rid of the back doors and used doors off a 65 2 dr post. they are 11" longer and filled in the back windows. Front clip is a one piece for a nova. i had purchased floors for my 70 pontiac and they were the wrong ones and wouldn't take them back. they were for a 70 chevelle. the floors were 1 in wider then the acadian so i took 1/2 in out of each side and now they fit. for seats i'm going with the 6 way electrics buckets out of the 99 grand cherokee that was totalled i'm also using the sun roof. i've also scavenged a roof rack off a 70 chevelle wagon. the subframe or floor was next to non existent. For frame and suspension 2x4 squared tubing using s10 leafs and suspension in the rear, front is a I-beam. Drive train is a 427 steel crank w/ a tunnel ram dumping into a super t-10 with a 67 9” posi out back narrowed to 38” backing plate to backing plate. right now she is in storage till the 70 is out of the toy room

Very Nice! I'm glad to see you did it right with the Sedan doors. Looks so much nicer than with the shorter 4dr front doors. Great project.

looked high and low for the doors. eventually i traded a radio delete plate for them. had to do the road trip for them from north dakota. i remember rolling thru custom in sarnia with them in the back of my saturn wagon. custom guard just said nice score when i told him what was in the back.

hard to believe, but i think this thing will be trailered if going any distance. the beast has a class 3 hitch and i'm thinkin the 2+2 is going to get one too

Nice unique project. Love the long roofs and a Canadian only car is way cool.

the only thing better than an engine on a stand is an engine that just went into a new ride.

Yes where is the wagon like to see or hear some updates. Following these builds is like a good book ,just waiting for the next chapter.

really nothing happening with the wagon till the rag is out of the mancave. but while i was giving a coat of paint to the 454 for the 2+2 i figured i would also give a gm duplicolour rattle can shot at the 427. you know you can't have a clean unpainted block on a stand. i've acquired a big quadrajet carb from rat boy for the 454 so i positioned the intake, carb, valve covers and breather for a photo-op plus it makes me feel like progress.

I like the Mickey Thompson valve covers, I don't know if you noticed but they have a little overspray on them biggrin

If you want to make some progress why not degrease that 800 cfm Quadrajet and throw a kit in it.
