Today was a great day, after pulling a motor out in the alley so Fatstax could scrap the car tomorrow he suggested we try to get the 55 running since Armdrop is coming up soon.Great i thought but I just put the third distributer in and still no spark I couldn't think of what was left. New cap and rotor ,modual out of a running car,3 different distributers, new coil pack lots voltage to the distributer. So Fatstax checks voltage ok, then when it turnsover big drop,He checks he wireing and pulls of the tack wire try it now he says .Well it backfires and there is the most gawdaufel grinding noise and thuding from the starter (huge backfire I think it took out some teeth on the flywheel but we will fix that later)and it fires he makes a little turn of the cap and its running smoothley .Fatstax says the tack wire was shorting the coil and it wouldn't fire .I have to give him credit and a big thankyou --The delivery lives thanks to his brilliance(he made me say that).Even though I will probably have to spend the next week telling him how smart he is it will be worth it. But seriousely I had no idea what was wrong and I am very thankful he was able to find it.What a great day. Ed
