Hi. I am happy to have found this site. For the last 3 years I have been re-doing a 56 Ford F100 with a small block 350, TH350, and 72 Chevelle front clip and rear axle. It was originally a California truck reasonably well built with low miles but needed to be restored again. The wiring was a hodge podge of stuff, mostly the old original wiring. The paint job looked good from a distance but the prep was bad in some areas and would not have survived in our climate. It's now my retirement job. I basically stripped it, took all sheet metal down to bare metal mostly by chemical stripping. It's all steel, some original and some replacement. Some body work had been done, but nothing major. The engine is in good shape but the transmission had to be rebuilt. It's all painted now but needs to be reassembled this year and rewired. I probably won't get to the interior until next year. Much of that is reusable but I did purchase a billet aluminum gauge panel and a set of VDO gauges. I'll probably go for a Vintage Air heater kit too. The original build had a plastic gas tank just sitting in the bed. I have done away with that and have mocked up an under bed tank that a friend of mine will weld up made of aluminum. The engine has a 4 bbl carb so I also have a low pressure electric pump for the fuel system. Not sure if there is interest but I have a full pictorial and written diary for the build.
