Turbo 400 with no speedo drive provision.

I have a 68 Turbo 400 with a long snout in my 67 Cutlass. It actually fits well vut when I went to hook up the speedo cable I realized there is no provision for one. apparently some of the big Olds back then drove the speedo from the front wheel. So the big Question is what do I do now to solve this problem? Will this trans have provisions for a speedo drive and a simple tailstock change will fix this? Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Probably not something you want to hear, but have you looked into the GPS speedos? They work very well and you do not need to worry about the gear changes, calibration or any other issues that pop up with speedos.

there is likely an area in the tailstock to fit the driven gear changig the tail stock would likely work.  i would consult a trans shop they would know better

Thanks for the replies. I will check out the tail stock to see if there is a drive gear in it and get a proper tail stock if there is. The GPS is a good idea too. I see autometer sells a GPS unit that will work with any electric speedo. I was planning on going with after market gauges anyway so this may be the way to go. Thanks all.
