Chris, I sure hope you are going to take Wayne and Jeanie out for a ride in it come spring time! They'll be blown away by the 348 and 5 speed! Nice choice - What a difference that will make!!!

Well folks, against my better judgement (ask my wife), I bought another 58 Chev. My beloved Belair will always be fron and centre and my Impala project is still my dream car. This little cream puff just had to come home with me. (See one photo of how jammed I am in my shop now. Wish my Missus would let me build another barn! Waaaaa.)
A 2-door Delray with 235 and a 3-in-the-tree, bare-bones beauty (in my eyes). She's got some bruises and a soft trunk, but runs well enough. I got her up on the hoist Sunday night and was even more pleased with my purchase. Brakes are all good, suspension seems tight, needs a hangar bearing and support (got one on the shelf), tires are good, all the glass is great, parking brake ain't even seized!
I got her from the second owner in London. Sold new in London. Oshawa-built.
My plan? Cut coils. Rust repair where needed. Tune up. Fresh gas. Pin stripes by Danno of Brantford. Miles on the road. Wide whites will come eventually. gonna keep the drive train unless the 235 blows up.
Would like to get my hands on some VINTAGE intake/exhaust/carb set-up if anyone knows of their whereabouts.
By chance is that Wayne Penny's Del-Rey? I used to work with him at Serco
Hey Chris....that 58 is going to rock in Detroit this year.....all your hard work and vission is really coming together brother.....good on ya.
Thanks brother! Lots of work to go yet. Just pulled the 235 out this evening. Now I need to figure out what I need to order. Clutch, flywheel, linkages, a shifter....arrggg!! This was supposed to be quick and cheap. Anyone need a 235 with a 3-speed? (I'll post an ad later, when the 348 is up and running.)
Apparently there's 3 ways to do things but you can only have 2...
1. Quick
2. Cheap
3. Fast.
Pick only two!

Car's looking good Chris, I'll keep an eye out for it in Detroit.
There was a shifter with the trans when I helped load it into your trunk, so you should have at least one anyway.
O and I did find the shifter bushing after you left, just like I figured I would.
Thanks John...I ordered a bushing that should be in tomorrow. Go figure! I had the trans checked over and its as good as you said it was. Nice to have trusted a stranger and have things work out well. Much thanks.
Sorry I missed you at the ELTA Fall Mixer...I over indulged the night before...I did see that wicked Studebaker of yours in some pictures though. Hopefully we'll cross paths in Detroit.
Chris

I never ran the 235 except shuffling cars around in and out of the garage and up onto and off of the trailer when I moved. (Already offered the engine to another O.R. member. Not a done deal yet.) I put new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, Pertronix Ignitor and coil, int+exh manifold gaskets and fuel pump in it as well as having the carb rebuilt. Trans is 3-on-the-tree stick.
You pulling my leg, Glenn? What do you want a 235+3 speed for? (Don't get me wrong...they make cool hot-rod mills.)
