Haugen's "BIG ONE" ????

I've avoided going to this for the last few yrs. & went to the cruise at Lindsay A&W last night. By 6:30 there were close to 80 cars at the "DUB" & at 7:30 a pile of vehicles came it at,said they'd been to Haugen's but not much happening there for the "BIG ONE" "maybe" 150 vehicles!!!  that's a long way off the 1100 to 1300 they used to get when the previous owners ran it!!! Just goes to show, that if you have a "BAD ATTITUDE" towards your guests [ cruisers] word gets around & one of the best cruises in the area is reduced to a "JOKE" in a short peroid of time!! It's a SHAME!!! Quite a few people I spoke to said they "weren't going to "Autofest" this yr. either, as the cost [$40] is too high if you can only make it for the Sat. or Sun. only, & they are getting "tired" of it after so many yrs. I've never been as the cost stops me & the size of it as well?? Heard you have to have a big dollar car for the judges to even consider it, & that leaves the little guy out, the way I look at it if you win a trophy thats a BONUS but if you haven't got a chance, thats not right!!  Door prizes are good from what they advertise!!!?????

I am one of the "not going to Autofest this year" guys. Went to Haugens once last year ... no need to rush back.

There is a fantastic show in Stouffville mid Sept. Generally over 1000 cars. Entry is technically free, but they do appreciate/hope for a $ donation to their cause.

here is the link www.motorfest.ca

Been to that one for the last 4 yrs or so, Great show well over a 1000 + vehicles, terrific location, & as you said FREE other than a donation which I don't mind doing $10 to $15. You have to get there early if you want to be in the front yard, last 2 yrs wev'e made it up by the side walk & can watch the line up to get in!!!! Weather can be "IFFY" though. Just heard on Thurs. night that Haugen's was asking 2 weeks ago "where did all the cars go & if you could answer, come forward?? Well one person did & laid it out on the floor to disc jockey & he was 'stunned" from what he heard. People that were at the big one said the "GUY with the ATTITUDE" had changed his tune & was "TRYING" to be friendly to the people that were there, so the word must of got passed on. Main thing was to "LIGHTEN UP" on the strict rules & don't be an "A$$HOLE"
