Those are some great pics,,there is a black merc in the pics i have never seen the likes of,,early 60's with some sort of vents at top corners of windshield.. My parents had a cottage in Port Elgin on Market St. way back when i was a young hellraiser..The cops had a 340 Demon back in '72,, made you think twice about not pulling over to show your credentials. Cops showed up at the cottage one night,,said a corvair that looked a lot like mine was seen doing donuts on the beach and driving out on the pier..I did not know there was another blue 65 corvair in town officer???

Its great to have a "body double" eh! I actually had one back in the early 80's (Two, same colour, built, 70 Chevelles in the same small town) After a while the law would just shake their heads.wink

Yes it is the 58 Merc Turnpike cruiser, I have likely seen one just never noticed those roof vents. Looked over some pics and the vents stand out big time on a black car. Looked at a snot green car and the chrome was lost in the paint. i figured out the familiarity of the car,,got a pic of our house in london from wayback with 2 58 fairlanes in the driveway.Reviews of the car are lame due to poor quality "gizmos" in the car, sales of just over 6000 for 58. but still a reliable driver. Here's one for sale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2vLbXvn_dg
