This was last Friday night staging lanes at a not so local track. Sportsman and Comp class dragsters as far as your eyes could see.

Can anyone guess which country this is NOT in?

These guy's were there too. Rattle your eyeballs when they go by.

You should have been in Picton There were so many cars in the staging lanes,It took a 1/2hr for your next runs. It may be a victim of its own popularity. It was an amazing turnout of racers and spectators grassroots racing is doing fine in Ontario as far as I can see.Love the armdrop atmosphere friendly rivalries and run what you brung ,lots of fun watching a lot of quick street cars from many areas of Ontario. The original question was "which Country is this NOT in" . The correct answer is Canada, because this Country does not cater to the automotive enthusiast. It will however spend billions on art galleries, ballet studios and other crap that most of us (unless you're queer)don't give a rat's a$$ about.
Lightspeed Mike was half right. It's Maple Grove Raceway in Reading PA where DaveM and I (and wives ) went last week for the AUTO-PLUS NHRA NATIONALS.
Great time !! Beer was only $20 for 30 cans, Gas was only $1.00 a liter, and food was cheap.
Anyone have a "green" card for sale ? I was born in the wrong Country

I hear ya,,,it's a shame the way this country is...i to was born in the wrong country i think...not to hijack your thread or anything, but to give you an example of how "great our pussy country is, my wife and i were heading to New orleans last year for a vacation...now, i have been across many many times before for racing and car related events with no problem..this time at the windsor crossing we got the usual questions...handed over our passports and this huge trogladite woman border guard leans in the car and says park over there,,,now!..we were then walked into the office and i was immediately being interogated while surrounded by 2 other gorillas who held my arms..fingerprinted...picture taken etc etc..then told i was not going anywhere...i said i had everything legally needed..passport, pardon etc...the one trogladite leaned over and said i don't give a **** what you have...you are not coming over, and if you try again, you will be arrested...i was then handed papers stating i was now an illegal alien . We were then escorted back to the Canadian side...I called our member of parliament, the ombudsman and any other Canadian hotshots about the treatment i got...i got the same answer from all agencies,,,sorry,,,we don't want to ruffle any feathers...nothing we can do...i contacted the U.S. homeland security...they said sorry... Now before you jump to conclusions, my last brush with the law was in "85"...long time ago..i paid my debt and all monies it took to clear myself..but obviously it don't mean crap to anyone...Anyways,,,great pictures and i envy you that do get to go over stateside because the events and enthusiasm over car stuff is overwhelming over there.

That sucks !! What really sucks though, is that you're now stuck on Canadian soil. You can't go to Mexico, Cuba or any other Country that will put the plane you're in, in American air space. Look into that before you book you're next trip.
I wish they would take the US/Canada border, split it in two and put one half on the western shores of North America and the other half on the Eastern shores. This will keep the real $hit from coming over here. Then with a fine toothed comb, deport the $hit that's already here. This is the only sensible thing to do, but we don't have a sensible Government!!

I have traveled quite a bit in the US, been to many states as far away as Arizona and California........Nice place to visit, but always glad to get back home. There are some disadvantages in our system, but my opinion is that the good things far outweigh the bad stuff.......Crime and healthcare just being a couple of them

I agree that crime is higher in the US, but that is directly related to the higher population of a certain "type" of people that reside there. I also feel that our crime rate would plummet if we were able to send back those "type" of people back to their little $hithole island in the Caribbean.

As far as healthcare, we pay way too much tax for the healthcare we get. I say cut my taxes and I will pay for my own healthcare. The people here that think we have great healthcare, are the ones that are healthy. Waiting 6 months for an MRI here is absurd. We have a great system untill you need it.

I know the original question was which country was it not in. That was just too easy

I also agree with your statements  here. I wish Canada would become the 51st state.

When I was going to those races they were called the Keystone Nationals, that was 20 years ago, I still have the t-shirts to prove it.

It's unfortunate that this happened at the Border but they go by "THEIR laws" not ours, & it's not a "right' to be able to cross into their country!!! It appears that your "pardon" is not being accepted, or has a problem with it??? & thats likely why the MP & other Gov. officals don't want to "rock the boat" & likely couldn't do anything if they tried!! It's the USA not Canada!!! This is where something that happened decades ago can "BITE YOU IN the A$$"

Oh yea,,my past came back to bite me...hard...a pardon is only good in Canada...At the same weekend this all happened to me, Canada let Charlie Sheen in for a thing in Toronto...just before that he had been charged with an impaired,,,assault and drugs....that were all outstanding....So...Canada allowed that "convict" into our country without hesitation...it all boils down to "who you are" i guess...i questioned Canada customs on that and they had no comment for return...I guess lil ole me is more of a bigger threat to a whole country then i thought...Guess it's something to laugh at ...big tough U.S.A thinks i am to violent for them..I didn't expect Canada to do anything about not being able to cross...it's the treatment i got ...totally unprovoked and uncalled for...You are only a Canadian citizen till you step outside of country,,,then your'e on your own..

Ever notice that the guards on the US side are way more strict, ask a whole lot of questions, & are all bussiness. Coming back to Cda. the US cars ahead go thru the line quickly[ unless a real problem pops up]& if everythings in order with you, your done in less than 2 min. I was on the US side at booth for at least 7 to 8 min while the guard left his booth, wrote down the plate #'s of the 52, the trailer, & the "BURB" then started one by one who owns the trailer, who owns the car on it, etc. It wasn't till he gave me back my passport that he smiled & said "really like your car" I'm sure they have all the answers on the computor screen in frt. of them & more info than you care to know!!!!!

Like I said...my opinion....

Maybe I am just selfish...I am 60 years old, have paid my taxes for all these years....I am ready to now reap the benefits....healthcare....CPP (started collecting 2 months ago)...Old age pension in a few years....Besides, whos to say that some insurance company is going to want to insure your healthcare...I am not about to take that chance....

About the foreigners.......We all came from somewhere....I was 2 years old when I came here....Funny, I have never been in trouble with the law in my life....OK, a couple of speeding tickets.

 I saw a bumper sticker at the barrie flea market about 10 years ago, and it hit the nail right on the head ! It read as follows;

OLD IMMIGRANTS WORKED HARD TO BUILD THIS COUNTRY

NEW IMMIGRANTS ARE TEARING IT APPART

IMHO, that is a perfect statement ! I get a little bit ticked off when someone  comes here and claims "refugee status" and lives better than some seniors that have contributed all their lives to Canada. It's just so wrong !

Don't really know weather to post this or keep it to mysef but since others have stated there opinion, here goes. There is not one single thing about that pathetic excuse for a country south of us that interests me in any way .Bully government ,racest people and a bullsh-t there is only one God, and he is on our side attitude. There is even a movie out now where they take credit for getting there hostages out of Iran on there own(anybody remember a guy called Ken Taylor). As for protecting there people in foreign lands ,as long as you are white and Christian no problem, anything else forget it.There is lots wrong here but at least we can still try to change it without being labled as radicals or jailed for our ideas .Not every one here owns a gun and we aren't so parinoid that we shoot lost people asking for directions or when was the last time a cop pulled his gun on you for a traffic stop .The countries are different get over it .If you don't like something try to change it Just because some big deal show or race in the states gets 10thousand cars, big f-ing deal it doesn't make it better just bigger. There is a much larger auromotive industry south of the boarder because there is a much larger population .The Canadian custom car hobby is doing just fine thankyou and so is the drag racing sport .Some of you guys have said they could care less about highpaid hockey players well I have no interest in a bunch of over sponcered rich American racers .Give me grass roots racing anytime ,way more interesting .Sorry Poncho I know this is not the place for this kind of rant but it sickins me to read Canada put down all the time if it is so wonderful down there and so bad here, people have an option.Again sorry this is not the place for this I know but sometimes I just get fed up, lets get back to the car stuff Ed

I,m retiring in fla , one of the first things I,m doing when I get there , concealed carry permits and a firearms course for the woman . and a mean sob ugly dog for the yard .
I,ve all ready started researching fencing by laws and green houses for tall 6 to 8 ft shrubs that bloom , look nice , that have thorns , for inside the fence for privacy . I need to be warm for some older injuries I have , the cold wet spring an fall seasons here kill me . Its all about Canajun club an tylenols an percs
Fast chebby they ( the feds ) are changing some of the pardon laws right now , you should look into an see what you gotta do for travel across the border
My wife is from Trinidad a sleepy lil island on the end of the caribean chain , she,s been in Canada since 78 . They usually ask if she is a immigrant an its like phuc off goof we been married 22 yrs . ..77.

Hey 77, maybe you or your wife can answer a question that I've wondered about for years? Why is it that people from the Eastern part of the Caribbean like Trinidad, St lucia, Barbados etc can be so friendly, but that damn western island of Jamaica is breeding all the rapists, murderers and thieves? Same part of the world, but totally different people !! Is it the water? The food? The political system? confuse

Actually a favorite thing for jamaican fishermen to do In Trinidad . They come up on a small Trini fishing boat by it self out in the ocean , pull up take it over , steal what ever they can sell when get back home , motors , equipment etc . , cut the crew , put them in the water , an most times leave the boat to drift , cause they dont want it .
, cuts + blood + water =sharks =no evidence
every yr fishermen go missing out on the ocean , they find the boats drifting or burnt to water line , usually nothing else . Sad state of affairs ..77.
Oh an trust me I,m still an always will be aCanajun . I just gotta get outta the snow belt , rust belt , humidity belt  . I,m still gonna try an retire in Florida .

Trinidad does have some high crime , but its mostly based on they having only 1.3 million people an are over run by govt assisted crime running drugs thru their waters and territory,s from Venezuela . the stuff is headed to the States .
I,m gonna say pretty much the whole caribean tolerates the Jamaicans , but really doesnt want anything to do with them . You put ten people from various islands in the caribbean in a small area , you know how you can tell who the Jamaican is ???, cause the 9 other people are keeping an eye on that one .
I,m n ot saying there all bad , every country has its stars an its darkness .
Trini,s are just too friggin happy , but makes for a great ol lady ..77.
