I just got the top for one of my vintage stoves done in heat resistant powder coating. The guy says it will hold up to 1200f on headers,he says that they do get a little chalkey right at the block after a while. ED
I have high temp powder here at home, and it works great on cast iron manifolds but not so well on headders. BTW DaveM, whoever did those manifolds did an awesome job !
I had headers and mufflers ceramic coated by Fireball Coatings for my 27 Roadster and they were great for the 3 years that I ran them. http://www.fireballcoatings.com/
The proven way to go is to ceramic coat,it does work nice and there are coulor choices also. The powder is relativley new but have heard positive things. I would also reccomend Fireball and get a price ,compare the two methods.
