Welcome Mike from just east of you in Blackstock. I likely have seen you around but can't place the name. Neat "rail" but looks like you are missing some IMPORTANT pieces?? Pete

Looks like you took part in the Watkins Glen Thunder Road Tour ... been wanting to get down there for the last couple of years and try that (as well as spectate at their vintage event).
Also, looks like the cage on your dragster has been updated (or it's just a newer chassis), hopefully it won't take much to get it going.
Welcome

Watkins Glen was a hoot. Been down for opening weekend a couple of times with the Fiero group. There's tons of cars down there that weekend from all vintages.
The dragster is new to me. How can you tell if the cage has been updated or a newer chassis? Need all the advice/input I can get.
When looking at the dragster from the side, there are two bars that go over your helmet (viewed from the side). Front engine dragsters from back in the day only had one bar ... a rule change at some point required that second bar. That means (to me at least) that either your car is an early car and has had the cage updated (and probably anthing else needed at that time) or it is a later car that was built after those rules.
How to tell which it is ?? ... I don't really know although a front engine dragster has not been "the car to build" for many years. Chances are it's an old original (some people in the states are making them again for the nostalgia drags).
Are there any chassis certification stickers on the cage? (or near it) ... the sticker will tell you when it was last "teched" IF it was teched.

Welcome from Vineland. I have a fetish for rear engine cars
I read that and I'm like "what?" ... I mean it's pretty obvious it's a front engine dragster isn't it ... the I "put on my thinking cap" and realized you were talking about the Fiero. The wife had an '86 with the 5spd, was a fun little car. Her old Fiero's electric fan (and relay) still lives on in my coupe.

I have both. The 86 Fiero show car is still mid engine (rear) but it's a 3.4 out of a 95 Camaro. Engine is cammed, bigger injectors, etc.
I also started a front engine pro street Fiero project but put it on hold when I bought the front engine dragster (rail).
The pro street is still a go once I get some racing in the new year with the rail.
Will eventually have "one for go and one for show"

C'mon Harry. The air's not that thin on this side of the lake, lol.
Could it be?...Here is a pic of "Longshot.. the worlds slowest dragster" a car we ran in the early 90s. It had a 350ci we pulled out of one of my dads old stationwagons. Ran mid 13s all day long...lol but was some of the most fun ever. Good luck with your mid life crisis..and wear a cup!
