My young friend Andrew (owns automotive repair shop -specializes in Diesel) took family to Colorado for Christmas...  5 children in their Duramax Suburban..

He was allowed to stay in a relatives house..   He was nosing around in the garage, and found a 1950 original owner pickup..  He had talked about doing a old truck with a Diesel   he called me the other day  wondering what to do... wanted to buy it cheap....lol

Wonder what happened?  confuse

Wow, that truck looks great. One of my favourite truck body styles. I would LOVE to make a year round daily out of that.

All he needs are pair of skirts, a visor, some flat black paint and he's got one of the nicest truck around!
Let me know if he needs anything, not much different between his 50 and my 48.

Stock is cool and all for looking at and low speed runs but not for driving on our highways or panic stops from the rice burners cutting you off. Good thing is you can get regular car insurance and drive it daily but if you write it off they'll only cut you a cheque for the scrap value!
Beautiful truck and a nice simple vehicle for him in the hobby!
Very popular vehicle, you can build a complete new one from parts sources like LMC.
There have also been about 2 or 3 new guys on Kijiji in the Hamilton-Kitchener area selling new and used parts for these.

carl sorry for the double post there, ooops.

side note, 6-7yrs ago bringing home a couple of cars we hung out at a buddy's place north of denver. 5 of us total. anyway we got snooping for cars and came across one of them trucks for sale, 49-50? it was pure/original nut and bolt re/do done buy an old family grocery store for promotions. their grand father bought it new, with paper work to prove it. the guy with me is a mech that does a lot of old stuff and knows his stuff. another buddy from vancouver takes a shine to it and they go for a test drive, put it on a hoist and had a good look. it was a nice dark green with the varnished wooden racks with the grocery store name on the racks.

tell your buddy he paid north of 20 for it. still has it in vancouver.  info for your bud and a good memory. there's a lot of cars/trucks in that area.

Being A "burb" sort of guy, I really like the tow vehicle!!! Not "keen" on AtomSplitters idea of "SKIRTS" Too each their own, but I think they SUCK on a truck, & some cars don't suit them either IMOP!!!!!
