No way.....If you look at pics of the various engines, you can see that they are different....Distributor location is one clue that they are different makes They do use the same rearends...Ford 9"....frames are similar depending on who builds it.....The bodies fit the same jigs........The engines are the biggest factor in differences

I'll agree, Mark Martin deserves it for sure, and I would root for him the whole way, but unfortunately he is only driving 25 races, in a Toyota.

i found out something interesting about nascar, besides the fact they only make left turns.  every car no matter what brand all run small block chevy engines, at least the block and pistons, the short blocks are supplied by nascar and make about 700 horse, the teams put thier own heads and stuff on them.  man what i wouldnt give for a set of toyota small block chevy heads.  mind you im told this by a nascar fan/nut i know so i could be wrong

I just started getting into Nascar last year (well, watching it), so I'm a bit new to the rules. if there are any, lol.

From what I've seen so far...

No matter how pretty a woman is, she will always manage to crash a car

You can't throw shoes at drivers, unless they are female, and you are in Quebec

You can chuck a bottle out of your car to bring out the safety car, then deny it on TV in front of millions

Revenge hitting is totally OK

You are allowed to use Ex formula 1 drivers, if you don't know how to turn right....and like to hit women

Can someone summarise the rules for me please?

Toyota and Ford do not run Chevrolet blocksnono

Purpose built, 358 cubic inch maximum, normally aspirated, push rod V8s, utilizing an 830cfm carburetor.

Each manufacturer has its own version of the NASCAR approved engine.

43 cars all running V8's  4 speed   170-200 mph in a pack and turn left   many times

Takes very experienced drivers to race   Billions of dollars revenue

They say a prayer before the race, and drink beer after    seems straight forward to me   lol          150-250,000 fans per race

No more carbs or distributors in the Cup series. They now use electrionic fuel injection, with a 941 cfm throttle body and distributorless ignition. Short track engines can turn 9700rpm. None of the engines have any production versions.

In order to be a top ranked driver, you must be able to thank all of your sponsors in one breath, every freakin' time someone stick a microphone in you face, even if you've had the worst race ever.

wow thanks for pointing that out, although you are wrong actually, i was relaying second hand info.  i did some checking and it turns out each company builds their own engines, they are all the same as far as cubes and stuff go.  358 cubic inches.  this is what nascar nut/expert may have meant but they did tell me they used all sbc chevys, i will have to inform nascar nut/expert of thier ignorance.

watching snoozecar has to be about the biggest waste of time there is.  i tried it few times and couldnt watch a bunch of cars go around and around. perhaps if they had more crashes and infield fisticuffs.  couldnt they have like a monster truck show in the middle of the track or something?

Re: "Perhaps if they had more Crashes:

In my opinion people that go to races to see crashes , should go watch something else.

Crashes are what costs teams big money, especially short track guys.

What is the problem with watching good clean racing?

That,s what their out there for, NOT smashing another guy up.

It's all marketing. Create the greatest amount of media buzz about the race. Not a better way of doing that than having Danica on the pole, and dating a rival driver.

Headline...  Danica on top in Daytona.

         I agree

watching 850HP cars with open headers, going 190mph and then turning left is boring..

especially with 42 others doing the same, a few feet around you....    disbelief
