Would love to attend. Sadly I have no metal working skills to speak of unless crushing beer cans counts. But I'd be more than happy to watch/lend a hand to those that know what they're doing.

 Perfect.

You have the best qualifications of anyone coming. The idea of the meet is to teach the newbs and for those with experience to share their knowledge.

Looking forward to meeting you.

BTW, we won't have any beer cans, so you'll have to crush pop cans on your head for us if you don't want to pick up a mallet.

Maybe I'll bring my smelter over so we can melt those cans after they get crushed.

I would like to attend if you still have any room.  I have no sheetmetal skills to speak of, have been looking for an event like this.

I do not have any stumps etc, but I do have a 2x72 belt sander/grinder I can bring along for some shaping.?.

 Got ya down Brian.

Just bring along some safety gear like gloves, glasses, ear protection. Any other kind of protection you might think about as well.

Not off topic at all.

I was talking to George on Sunday and he mentioned he stayed at the Best Western last year and was pleased with everything.

Best Western Plus Executive Inn
38 Estate Dr, Toronto, ON M1H 2Z1
(416) 430-0444 () ‎ · book.bestwestern.com

There's a Holiday Inn across the street as well.

Hey Pugsy,

I definitely cannot make it this year my friend. I wish there were more weekends available however I must be in Ottawa this same weekend to help with a new indoor hotrod show and pinstriping event.
Thank you for everything you do pal, hope to see you around.
Chris.

Getting quite excited about this :)

All my tools are still in a container somewhere in Toronto, and will not see daylight till we move into our new house on May 30th.

I might have a pair of protective glasses, but that's about it, lol.

I'll be there on the Saturday.

If anyone needs a lift from Hamilton, let me know!

 Crazy.

I swear I linked from the current thread. The 2012 thread was way down the list somewhere. The new thread is a sticky, first one on the events page. I must be losing it....

How about this one?

I'm very interested in coming. I read this thread a week ago and I've been struggling a little: Stay home and get a few things done or go and learn a lot! Well, if you'll have me, I'll commit and bring whatever you think might be required. Here is what I have to offer:

1)limited experience,

2) a "toys'r'us(princess auto) pnuematic planishing hammer,

3) a "toys'r'us(princess auto) english wheel,

4) an Eastwood shaping mallet,

5) multiple hammer/dolly sets,

6) a hand crank cheapie bead roller,

7) a shrinker and a stretcher (no stands/pedals....yet),

8) as many stumps as you would require or would fit in the van.

9) an open mind

10) some kind of snack/finger food/treat

11) a folding chair

12) PPEs

Maybe if someone from my area Aylmer, London, Belmont, Dorchester wants to go we could car pool and split on the gas? Lemme know.

Bring as many of those items as possible.

Please do. I'd love to see a bunch of fenders , doors , hood, etc....

It sure beats only banging out bowls and we can find techniques to make panels that are really needed.

I can bring a '64 Falcon passenger side fender with some serious stretch marks on the body lines just ahead of the door. It's from my Ranchero:

This may sound like a dumb question, but what would you recommend to be an ideal diameter and height for a stump? I have quite a few to choose from. Also, could/should I carve a subtle concave in one end? It would be easy enough to do in no time flat using a chainsaw.
