I was looking on Kijiji and saw what was called a Studefaker ,ElCamino converson kit equiped car. That got me thinking about what else is out here in fiberglas or whatever.I saw one kit that converts the front of a pickup into a 60-66 chev and another clip to convert chev pickup to a 52 style.I think we have all seen the 51 ford,Zimmer thunderbird car kits and even some 57Chev car kits.Way back there were kits to bolt onto VWs that converted them to all kinds of cool styles. Has any body seen anything interesting for an S10 of similar. The ones I saw were from Retro Truck and Innovativeretrokits . Ed

I don't honestly know if he used a "body conversion kit" but a guy I used to work with became a girl. I don't work there any more so I can't get you in touch with him ..... errr .... her .... ummmm .... it

Its a body converson just like the tuner stuff only its a kit to make your 80s Chevy look like a 50s Studebaker.Would probably work on all the GMs of that era. Ed
I think its not a total body off but more pannel add on's with a front clip. not my style but i seen one at paris last year and it was well put together and looks a hell of a lot better then a stock 80s camino
The kit is a bolt on front clip and rear panels. You get fiberglass headlight buckets and rings and a fiberglass front bullet, but origional steel ones will fit accouding to one article I read. Ed
I also saw the add on kijiji. I am a custom fanatic but it is not my cup of tea. I showed it to the girl friend and she came back with it is pure fugly. I laughed and reminded her that some of my cars in some peoples opinion are the same { Fugly }. Not taking away from the fella that built it because it does look like it was done right. I just sold my 36 3 window with the 40 front end. Not really my cup of tea either but it was very well built and done right. Some people absolutley loved it and I also had some negative comments in regards to cutting up a perfectly good 36 Ford 3 window. Hah! I did not build it but the fella that did had a vision and made it reality. It was still a very nice street rod.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...lol

I've seen that Studefaker before and it's really well done, not something I would want but well done. That is an Avanti in the background, I talked with the owner at a show this past summer and he has a few other cars. Really nice guy
With the Stude front end on an El Camino, it stands to reason that is an Avanti. I had a '63 Avanti for a while. Not the best quality body in the world. As a matter of fact, not much of anything on it was quality. It now lives in Winnipeg.
Now this is something that's cool but you need to be 50++ to appreciate it, built on a C6 chassis.

I'm not 50 and you are right...I dont appreciate this at all. The 57 and 59 Chevy's were gorgeous cars in their own right and to blend the two together with a late model Vette is a total and utter fail IMO. This is a hodgepodge mess

This is the project he started with . Some things allready done that just had to be worked around. Challenge I see is to have it look like any 33 but run like a track car. never botherd posting a picture of the motor . One of the top 10 stupedist looking things gm ever made.
