They were pushing for an International Drivers Licence. But as Sasquatch said they have backed off for now. If you hold a licence that is in another language other than english, the International Licence would have all the pertinent info of your licence on it in English. The intended IDL is so the "official" that stops you can have the info in their written and spoken language so they know who you are where your from etc. This is just a tax grab that pissed off a lot of people and they got vocal about it. Another case of politicians with their mouth in gear and their brain in neutral. Enhanced Licence is for border crossing ID instead of a passport, but you can't use it for air travel like you do a passport. It also has a few other restrictions. I have one that is due in March. But there have been no changes to it since I got it, that I'm aware of.

I just heard about this today, but it seems that if we (Canadians) drive in the State of Florida, we will be required to have an enhanced driver's license. Apparently this law came into effect January 1st of this year. I find it odd that the State of Florida would hassle Canadians driving in their State considering they haven't recovered from the recession as well as other States. Why mess with your number one source of income, Tourism??
I'm very curious as to which other States have this policy?? Hopefully they will come to their senses and get rid of this idiotic law !! I guess the law makers are Morons on both sides of the border.
