ask your scrap yard , one of the local scrap yards will take a vehicle if you cut it up first . like cut it in half , and will take it like that with out papers . Just ask your local places ..77.

the local yards i deal with dont ever ask me, im well known and wouldnt bring them a sketchy car that might be stolen. as a rule i think yards are suppose to get ownerships signed, if the cops decide to ask questions and stuff
You are going to have to cut it up. Im going to have to do the same with the turbo coupe just because I want to keep the ownership incase the ministry want to play games. depending what it is it may be easyer to sell the rest off to someone that can use it.
I've never been asked for an ownership or had to cut a wreck up but I've been dealing with the local yards for years. Might be different for someone they don't know.
The area you live in has a lot to do with it. and how often the cops stop in to check out the yard . most stolen vehicles have an ownership in the glove box anyway and seeing they take your plate number the scrap yard has there ass covered. but they are still beat for whatever they payed out and dont like that. but its better then having the yard closed and being charged with posession of stolen goods back when the scrap prices tiped 400 a ton people where steeling cars in the hamilton area and just cutting them up and scraping them or breaking into older homes and cutting all the copper water lines and drains out . the only thing that stoped it or slowed it down was the bottom falling out of the price of scrap. One of those crimes that the cops wont bother looking into and the insurance companys just raise everybodys rates and call it a high risk area . I should clarify the cops dont bother with untill someone steals one of there cars then its an all out manhunt Idiots
If you want to just get rid of it most scrap guys will take them as they run them straight to the crusher. There are hundreds in local papers who will pick up your car for scrap.

Thanks guys. Thinking about this now, if I have to cut it up, I'll be looking at two trailer rentals (or two a day rental). If I look at the scrap value, the revenue from the parts I can sell, the hassles from the Kijijidiots, the storage issues and then the effort and consumables to cut it up - it just might not be worth it. I really only need the box of this thing.
If I had the ownership, I'd sell the truck minus the box. Without it my only option is to scrap it (at less profit)

Try calling the scrapyard, explain the situation. maybe they will take it whole?
Here we have a scrapper family that will pick up any scrap, then they take it home and strip it of anything of value like aluminum, copper , stuff like that. The haul the metal to the scrapyard.
These guys will take anything, even a couple of pop cans if they find them with the stuff you want to get rid of, very thorough guys.
I'll make a few calls tomorrow. I guess I also have the option of selling the remainder for parts without the papers and let it be someone else's hassle. I cant see this thing being hot either. Its an old farm truck that's been apart in a garage for a while

I just read your original question ... it sounds like you haven't bought the truck yet.
Here's what I am thinking ... either buy just the box from this person, find a good box somewhere else, or buy the entire truck you are interested in, stockpile all usable parts as spares for your own truck ... cut the rest up with a Sawzall (you really won't need many blades). I don't understand the need to rent a trailer, aren't you intending to replace the box on your truck? Why can't you use your truck to haul parts of the carcass to the wreckers?
The owner needs the truck off the property so I need to rent a car trailer. My project truck isn't licenced for the road/ non running and my daily driver only had a 6' box. Too many trips to the scrapyard and too much dissecting for it to be worth the effort. The only thing I'd keep for myself is the box and maybe the trans as a spare. I have space issues, so I can't keep too much around while I wait for it to sell
